The Direhaze Keep in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is an area that will only reveal itself once you reach level 99 for your exploration level. So, in order for you to reach here, you’ll have to check your objectives from your previous dungeons in order to raise it. If your exploration level is below 99 then this place won’t have any entrance for you to go to.

Important Note: The Direhaze Keep involves a very important turning point in the game’s story. It would be best for you to complete your current rice harvest first, as well as get any weapon and garment created at Home. Do not go to this dungeon if your harvest hasn’t been hulled yet or else you might lose your hard work. On this page we shall see the objectives that you'll need to clear, as well as Tips on how to finish them.

Unlock Requirements: Complete Nocturnal Hollow and Reach Exploration level 99. If your exploration level isn’t 99 yet, the place will be called Direhaze Mountain Summit.

Direhaze Keep -Entrance-

Similar to the entrance of the Crimson Blaze Mountain, the entrance to the Direhaze Keep doesn’t have any enemies. It’s a huge castle that you can enter through the gates, and this can only be available for you once your exploration level is 99. If you visit this area before that exploration level requirement, it will be just an open field.

Remember that you must finish your current rice harvest before entering. Once you complete this dungeon, the story will take a turn and it can affect your current rice. If you do not harvest it yet, your efforts might go to waste if you are entering it early, so be warned!

Direhaze Keep -Ring of Earth-

Upon entering the Direhaze Keep, you’ll get to fight a familiar demon that you have fought earlier at Eggplant Hollow. The Red Belly has super armor attacks and it will eventually do a jump attack and land on the ground. So, in order for you to finish it off, use your Raiment to dodge attacks by using the surrounding Demon Rabbits, and then crashing them towards the Red Belly.

It shouldn’t take you that long, you’ll need to do your regular attacks and evasive maneuvers until its HP runs out. You can then exit to the right side and then take the stairs to the upper left in order to go to the next area.

Direhaze Keep -Ring of Humanity-

Upon reaching the second level, you’ll head to the left side and be greeted by a tag team of gigantic demons. The Deer and the Bird are types that you have encountered every so often In different dungeons. When fighting the Deer, it can attack you from the front and the back, while the bird can shoot feathers and lock in on you.

Using attacks that have huge range will help you take them both out. Once you have defeated them, you can even get some materials that can be used for crafting and cooking. You can exit to the left side and then taking the stairs to the upper right in order to go to the next area.

Direhaze Keep -Ring of Heaven-

The third level will introduce you to the Golden Brawler. This is a bigger version of the Demon Bears that you usually fight in the previous dungeons, and they are accompanied by Demon Badgers. The Golden Brawler doesn’t have much range, but it has strong hits as well as super armor.

The Badgers can cast different spells that can attack you from afar. You can use your Raiment to attach to the badgers and catapult them towards the Brawler. Thankfully the Brawler is slow so you can move to the left or right of it in time. You can exit to the right side and continue to the next area.

Direhaze Keep -Tower of Rebirth-

As you reach the top, you’ll encounter Ishimaru. The very same person who Sakuna has stopped at the start of the game. You’ll finally see the story that unfolds to how Ishimaru has been in the island. Eventually, he will be able to transform into a demon as well. Once you get to fight Ishimaru, he’ll attack you immediately so use your Raiment to dodge to his other side.

A lot of Ishimaru’s attacks will require you to go his blind spot. If you see him wind up for an attack, use your Raiment in order to get to the other side. There will be instances where he can use weapons from afar, so keep yourself within reach so you can swing across him easily.

Once he is defeated, you’ll be completing your objective. You can then watch the cutscenes and learn more about the evil boss that you’ll have to eventually face. Towards the end, you’ll see a scene between Sakuna and Tama. You’ll have to eventually go Home and watch what will unfold. The next areas will be available once you complete the cutscenes.
