The Barbed Mines in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is a location that will be available to you once you have completed the previous dungeon as well as reaching a high exploration level. As the name of the mines imply, there are a lot of hazards on your surroundings since there will be spike traps, and sharp rocks all around.

Not only will you fight demons along the way, it can be easy for you to lose HP here if you aren’t careful. With a lot of constant threats appearing, your HP recovery might now work. There are only two objectives here thankfully, so let’s check what you can find in the Barbed Mines. On this page we shall see the objectives that you'll need to clear, as well as Tips on how to finish them.

Unlock Requirements: Reach Exploration level 88

Barbed Mines Entrance

Right at the very beginning of the mines, you’ll find sharp rocks as well as spikes scattered throughout. One of your objectives is to defeat enemies using terrain damage. Knocking enemies towards the spikes can deal this and they can die from too much damage. You can use your Raiment to launch yourself towards them, or use skills like Frontal Smash to launch them towards the hazards.

Continue to the right side and avoid the hazards along your way. Once you have reached the look out tower, you’ll have two options to go through. Going to the upper right, as well as going to the lower right. There are some items that you can get at the area above, so go to the upper right first, there will be more enemies there that you can toss to the spikes on the ground.

You’ll reach an area there that has a look out tower on the very right. Clear out the enemies first since they will come in waves. Once they have been defeated, you can go on the tower in order to get an Enchantment of True Strength: Slash Charm, and then go on top of the tower and you’ll find a box there on top of the platform that contains a Demonic Braid. Once you have these items, you can head back to the first lookout tower and then take the path to the lower right.

The area is going to be filled with sharp rocks all over. You can fling your enemies so they can hit these rocks. If you go to the lower left side of the area, you can jump across spikes to the left and find a box containing Eradicating Remedy. You can then continue by going to the lower right most side of the area.

Waves of enemies will appear, so use the spikes to take them out. The waves should be nearby a gate, so once you finish them all off, you’ll be able to clear the innermost area. You can exit the dungeon and come back in if you haven’t completed the terrain objective.

You might notice that there isn’t any new area that will appear if your exploration level is low. In order to access the Nocturnal Hollow, you will need to reach Exploration level 95 and above, so make sure to complete your objectives!
