Den of Fangs

The Den of Fangs in Sakuna: of Rice and Ruin is quite the obstacle course for a dungeon. Here you’ll need to be careful with your movement due to the sharp rocks that cover the dungeon, these protruding rocks are the so-called fangs and they can hurt quite a bit. You can fling monsters to the rock to damage them as well.

One of the objectives in this dungeon is for you to mine the fangs for stone. This means that you’ll need to find a way to destroy these sharp rocks in order to complete your objective. This dungeon can take you a couple of tries in order for you to complete the objectives. On this page we shall see the objectives that you'll need to clear, as well as Tips on how to finish them.

Den of Fangs Entrance

As you start in the Den of Fangs, you’ll find some pointed rocks on the ground. These will hurt Sakuna if she touches them, so you’ll be using evasive movements in this dungeon. When starting out, you can just jump across the rocks and then open the box that’s on the floor. Here you’ll get the Scroll called Grappling which will let you extend your Raiment. You can then jump up to the next area by extending your Raiment upward.

One of the exploration objectives is for you to mine the fangs for stone. This means that you must destroy the spiked rocks using your enemies. Wait for them to be near the rocks, and use Frontal Smash in order to launch them towards the rocks. You’ll need 10 stones total so you might have to repeat the Den of Fangs dungeon a couple of times.

As you continue to the right side, you’ll find a lot of fangs ahead. There’s a mining spot to the right side that can potentially give you an iron ore. Gathering this isn’t guaranteed so it can take a couple of tries, you might have to go the next day in order for the mining spot to replenish. You can then continue to the path below and find enemies along the way, remember to use Frontal Smash in order to push them against the spiked rocks.

Continuing your way up the slope to the right side, you’ll find an area that will have rocks on the wall as well as a boulder on top of it. Before progressing your way to the left, use your Raiment to latch to the boulder then jump up once more and use your Raiment to attach to the ceiling.

Once you reach the top, you’ll find a box there. Hitting it will let you get the Kitsune Mask item. This will clear your exploration objective for getting the treasure (Mask). If you haven’t received an Iron Ore yet, this should be your first exploration objective that will be cleared, letting you gain access to Bounteous Earth Grotto.

Continue to the left side and you’ll find more enemies up ahead as well as spikes on the ceiling. Keep using Frontal Smash and you should be able to knock them and mine more stones. Once you reach the top, you should be able to jump across to the left side and find another Mining Spot for a chance to get Iron Ore.

Your final set of enemies will be on the upper right side of the dungeon. Defeat them by knocking them to the rocks in order to continue your mining. Once all enemies have been defeated, you’ll be able to clear the innermost area. If you’re able to complete two objectives, you should also be able to gain access to Eggplant Hollow.

The objectives here is difficult to complete in 1 run. There are only two mining spots that can give your iron ore by chance, and you’ll need to knock enemies to rocks and destroy them until you have 10 pieces left. You can go back to this dungeon the next day if you want to continue mining for the Iron Ore. Once you have the objectives completed, you’re free to exit the dungeon.
