The Dancing Mushroom Woods in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is similar to the Den of Fangs, you’ll have different objectives here and it will test your maneuvering capabilities. Like the Den of Fangs, you’ll need to go around and avoid sharp dangerous rocks in order to prevent from getting damaged, but you’ll notice something new here which are giant mushrooms.
With this new feature in the dungeon, you’ll learn a new mechanic that you can use in order to defeat your opponents, as well as how to use it in order to access hidden areas. The Dancing Mushroom Woods can be confusing at first, so let’s check out what we’ll find here. On this page we shall see the objectives that you'll need to clear, as well as Tips on how to finish them.
Unlock Requirements: Reach end of Winter year 1 and get the Pioneering Quest

Exploration Objective (s) | Star Rating |
---|---|

Bounce things into a mushroom 20/20 | 1 Star |
Get treasure (Mask) 1/1 | 1 Star |
The Dancing Mushroom Woods will provide you with the entrance area only, however it isn’t quite linear compared to the previous dungeons that you have been to. Your objectives will require you to look for treasure through boxes, so we suggest that you wear the Kitsune Mask that you acquired from the previous runs. This will let you glow in case there’s a treasure nearby. If you head to the right side, you have the option of going to the upper left or upper right area. It would be easier if you start on the upper left, we’ll be exploring the dungeon as if it’s an arc.
There are multiple platforms you’ll find with giant mushrooms, bushes, as well as sharp rocks. You can press up and light attacks to take out the demon sparrows if you’re near the mushrooms, hopefully you’ll knock them towards the mushrooms which will deal additional damage. You can get High Quality Oak from the bushes here in order to clear one of your objectives. If you don’t get all of them, you can come back some other time.
Using your Raiment, your goal is to reach the upper left most area. You’ll find a mushroom there and some Demon Sparrows waiting. Once you have defeated them, head to the right side of the area until you find a lot of enemies. There will be two mushrooms on each side, as well as a huge pile of wood in the middle. Use your Frontal Smash in order to knock enemies towards the mushrooms in order to help with your objective. Defeating all waves of enemies here will clear the innermost area objective.
Continue to the right side and you’ll find a box that has a Scroll: Attributes 1 inside. Once you have that, you’ll find a Mushroom on the upper right, and there’s a boulder across it. Stand on the right side of the mushroom and try to do attacks while jumping. The Mushroom should sway, and you’ll get launched towards the boulder if it hits you. You’ll find another box there that has the Treasure (Mask) which is a Whistling Mask.
You can now jump down to the lower levels and defeat more enemies and knock them towards mushrooms in case you haven’t completed that objective yet. Completing three objectives will let you unlock the Fruitful Hassok location.
Completing the objectives here should increase your Exploration level to 17 and unlock Hare's Nest Knoll. You can also find another box on the lower right most area of the dungeon and this will contain a Powder of Transformation. Once you are done gathering the items you want, you can leave the dungeon and come back to complete the other remaining objectives.
