Eventide Grotto

Last Updated:
The Eventide Grotto in Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin isn’t a regular dungeon where you can revisit multiple times. As part of the story, you’ll gain access to this area in order to learn more about the history of the island as well as its inhabitants. This location provides you with more depth about the demons, as well as a new creature that you’ll be facing along the way.

As you may know, Ashigumo belonged to a tribe who once lived on the island. You’ll then learn more about his people through this location, as well as what happened to them. On this page we shall learn about more of Ashigumo's tribe.

Unlock Requirements: Unlocks after completing Radiant River Gorge

Eventide Grotto Entrance

You’ll notice that there aren’t any objectives in this location. As you go inside the Grotto, you’ll get to encounter demons that have perished as well as bones all over. You’ll watch a cutscene and find out more about Ashigumo’s people. Here, you’ll learn about new enemies called Specters, and how they are trying to exact revenge on others.

Watch the Cutscene and defeat all enemies

You’ll only have to defeat the enemies here once since it’s part of the story line. Revisiting this area will only show you the cave, so you’ll just need to complete it once. You can then head Home after and check the other locations, and then progress with the story.
