Is it your first-time playing Animal Crossing? Do you want to know what all the fuss is about? Here we’ll discuss about this game for beginners so you’ll have an idea on what you will expect when embarking on your Island getaway package.

Style of Gameplay

You might be wondering what type of gameplay Animal Crossing has. It’s a life simulation game and you can compare it to other genres like Harvest Moon. However, you are not just limited to farming here. There are so much things that you can do when you start.

You take on the role of the Villager, you can customize your character’s looks when you start your game for the first time. In New Horizons, you’ll embark on an Island getaway package and live there by starting off in a Tent. From there, you’ll have to earn money and start developing the island.

You can do this through various Activities such as gathering different resources, catching Bugs, digging Fossils and more. Any earnings that you make will then be used to upgrade your tent, or create new structures for the Island.

The progress that you make is consulted with Tom Nook and his family. You’ll see him often as he provides you with the necessary services for upgrades and features on the Island. As you start from the ground up, his family will be there to help you out getting the most out of your getaway package. Not only are you improving the island, but you’ll also have to befriend other villagers too to create a community.

Real life events

The events in the game follow the exact clock that your Nintendo Switch has. This includes events in the game such as holidays, the change of seasons, or even scheduled activities Some facilities in the game will follow real time hours so you’ll have to know the different schedules. Missing out on some activities you’re invited to might make other villagers sad as well so having a note would be handy.

Your Villager

If events in the game are based on real time, you’ll be wondering if your Villager needs to eat or if they can get hurt. Thankfully, you can play the game at any time that you wish. Your Villager doesn’t have to follow a sleep schedule, nor will they pass out unlike other games. Play the game as you want to, you’ll get to live your life however you want on your island. Everything is your choice.
