What is Time Traveling in Animal Crossing? This is just a term used where you can speed up your in-game time in order for you to progress faster. There are instances in the game where you’ll have buildings under constructions which can take time, or you may want to get resources faster.
Time traveling involves you changing your Nintendo Switch’s in-game clock in order for you to move the day forward. Here are the steps that you need to do in order to accomplish this:
1. If you’re currently playing the game, make sure to save first. Press the Home button and then press the X button to close the game.
2. Go to the Nintendo Switch System Settings (Gear icon) and then scroll all the way down to “System”.
3. Under “Date and Time”, turn Synchronize Clock via Internet to “Off”.
4. Under the Time Zone, you can set the current date. You can move forward the day by 1, and then repeat the process whenever you like.
5. Press Home, and then access the game once again. The day in-game will not reflect the day you have set the Switch into.
Note: Its preferable if you skip time one day at a time, you can collect your resources and check up on your Villagers as well. If you skip time like weeks or months ahead, your surroundings might be affected such as weeds growing. Also, villagers will act as if you haven’t talked to them in that time period and they may leave.
Holiday events will require a time check where you’ll need to connect Online (Source: Japanese Nintendo Website). Make sure to set back your Switch’s clock to the actual time before doing this so you’ll be able to participate.
