What is Nook’s Cranny in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? This facility is the game’s main shop, you can purchase different items here including furniture, decorations, Tools, seeds, DIY Recipes, wall paper, and even flooring. Not only can you purchase items, but this is the way for you to sell items.

How do I unlock Nook’s Cranny?

Initially, Timmy and Tommy handle their shop at resident services when you start out. You will have to help them out in order for them to set up their own shop. In order to begin this process, you will need to pay off your first loan of 5000 Nook Miles, and ask Tom Nook to upgrade your tent to a house.

Once you have done that, talk to Timmy or Tommy and they’ll request for help in order to set up their shop. You will have to provide the following items to them:

* 30 pieces of Wood, Hardwood, and Softwood

* 30 pieces of iron nuggets

You can get these when using your Axe and hitting trees, and Shovel when hitting rocks. Once you have provided it to them, Timmy and Tommy will ask you to find a spot for their shop and you’ll be given a kit to use.

Once you have chosen your location, Construction will begin the next day and it will be opened on the following day after. The Catalog service will be added under Nook Shopping as well when you use the Nook Stop.

Shop Features

The shop has 2 sections that you can go through for purchasing. One area will provide you with your daily items such as furniture and decoration. Two items at the back are only stocked once, while the items at the front can be bought as much as you want. All items in the shop change each day.

The cabinet at the back provides you with Tools, DIY Recipes, kits, wallpaper, and flooring. The wallpaper and flooring can change each day as well.

If you talk to Timmy or Tommy, you can sell items to them. Each day, there is a hot item that they assign where they’ll pay double price for that item and you can ask them what it is.

Outside of Nook’s Cranny, there’s an item box that you can use for selling. The shop is only open from 8 AM to 10 PM so you can sell your items here if you have to, the payment will be given to you the next day. However, there’s a handling fee so you will get less Bells compared to selling them directly to Timmy and Tommy.

How do I upgrade Nook’s Cranny?

Before you’re able to upgrade Nook’s Cranny, there are some milestones that you need to achieve first. You need to accomplish the following tasks in order to begin the upgrade process:

1. Pay of your initial debt of 5000 Nook Miles, and upgrade your tent to a house.

2. Donate 5 Bugs and Fish to Tom Nook and unlock the Museum with Blathers.

3. Upgrade Resident Services from their tent to a building

Once you have those check, you will then need to support Nook’s Cranny with their business and spend 70,000 Bells or more at their shop. An easy way to do this is to purchase all furniture available, as well as going to the shelf at the back and purchasing customization kits repeatedly.

After you have spent this amount and more, you’ll get an announcement from Isabelle the next day. Nook’s Cranny will be beginning constructions for the upgrade on the following day. So, make sure that you sell all of your items that you need to since the item box won’t be available.

Upgraded Features

Once you have upgraded Nook’s Cranny, you’ll gain access to 5 furniture this time. 3 of which are stocked once, while 2 can still be bought as much as you want. The shelf will now have the following items:

* 8 Tools

* 2 Umbrella options

* 2 Wrapping Papers

* 9 Seeds

* 9 DIY Recipes

* Fruit

* Party Popper

* Customization Kits

* 8 Wallpaper

* 8 Flooring

It’s a good idea to check Nook’s Cranny each day to see their items, a lot of furniture can be purchased if you want. Also, you can check the Islands of other players if you have friends who play since their shops can stock different items as well.
