How to unlock the bridge and invite more villagers (Fence Reward)

What do you unlock the bridge and add more villagers in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? In this guide we’ll discuss how you can get access to your first bridge and have new villagers. You’ll be awarded with some fencing. This is an item that you can use in order to lay out fences around your land. It’s a handy feature that lets you create divisions, or simply you can use them for aesthetic purposes.

Step 1: Help Timmy and Tommy set up Nook’s Cranny

Initially, Timmy and Tommy handle their shop at resident services when you start out. You will have to help them out in order for them to set up their own shop. In order to begin this process, you will need to pay off your first loan of 5000 Nook Miles, and ask Tom Nook to upgrade your tent to a house which will cost 98,000 Bells. Make sure to pay that off as well.

Once you have done that, talk to Timmy or Tommy and they’ll request for help in order to set up their Shop. You will have to provide the following items to them:

* 30 pieces of Wood, Hardwood, and Softwood

* 30 pieces of iron nuggets

You can get these when using your Axe and hitting trees, and Shovel when hitting rocks. Once you have provided it to them, Timmy and Tommy will ask you to find a spot for their Shop and you’ll be given a kit to use.

Once you have chosen your location, Construction will begin the next day and it will be opened on the following day after. The Catalog service will be added under Nook Shopping as well when you use the Nook Stop.

After Tom Nook’s announcement of the Shop opening, he’ll be getting a phone call from some villagers who are eager to move in the Island.

Step 2: Talk to Tom Nook and help him construct a bridge

Once you talk to Tom Nook at Resident Services, he’ll get a phone call once again from the interested villagers who’ll want to move in. Because of this, he’ll be asking for your help with the island. You’ll be asked to create a bridge in order for everyone to have easier access to the island.

Construct the first bridge and you'll be asked to find a place where you can lay it. Look for a spot on the river that you can place the bridge to, they should be even on both sides so the bridge can fit. Once you’re done setting up the bridge Construction kit, head back to Tom Nook.

Step 3: Help set up land for 3 incoming new villagers

Tom Nook will tell you that the bridge won’t be finished until the next day, but you can start setting up the homes of the 3 incoming villagers. You’ll be provided with housing kits that you can set up anywhere you want. Each housing Kit will have some furniture requirements as well. There’s going to be a box on the left side that will tell you which furniture you need to craft.

Get the items that are needed and then place them on the box for the interior Furniture, and place the exterior furniture outside near the lot. You will have to do this for all 3 housing lots that you are preparing.

Step 4: Talk to Tom Nook once you have completed the housing lot

Once all furniture for the housing lot have been crafted, talk to Tom Nook. You will then be awarded with some fencing for your reward. You can get new fencing designs by redeeming them at the Nook Stop using Nook Miles.
