What does the Slingshot do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? This Tool lets you pop balloons that are carrying presents whenever they float over your Island. The items that you can get can be different kinds as well.

Slingshot Tool

One of the first tools that you can create after learning from the DIY Workshop of Tom Nook is the Slingshot. It doesn’t have any other upgraded versions but it can still break. You’ll notice balloons if you’ll hear a strong breeze in the air, and you’ll usually see a shadow on the ground. Move the right analog stick to adjust your camera angle in order to see if there’s a present.

In order to pop the balloon, position yourself below the balloon and press A once it lines up to your sight. The balloon will be popped and you can claim the item after. Make sure to not pop them if they’re above water, or else you’ll lose the item. If this happens, you’ll at least get 1 Nook Miles achievement for losing an item on water.
