What is the Campsite in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? This facility lets other villagers visit your Island and you can potentially invite them to be your residents. This is one of the methods for villagers to be added since they’ll be provided with a place to stay while they check if they want to live there or not.
In order to unlock the Campsite, you’ll have to upgrade Resident Services first and remove them from their tent status. You’ll have to make sure that Resident Services is upgraded first to a regular building. In order to do this, you will have to achieve the following:
1. Pay off your first loan with 5000 Nook Miles, then upgrade your Tent to a real house.
2. Help Timmy and Tommy set up a Shop and create Nook’s Cranny.
3. Complete Tom Nook’s request of setting up land for 3 New Villagers.
Once you have completed all of the tasks, you should get an announcement from Tom Nook the next day about his plan for upgrading. Once Construction has begun, you’ll get access to the upgraded Resident Services the following day.
Once that’s done, talk to Tom Nook and he’ll discuss about Project K. You’ll be asked to create a campsite and set up a spot for it. Once you have done that, the campsite will be ready the next day.
When the Campsite is first created, you’ll get to have one visiting villager first that you’ll need to invite. Once that is done, villagers can visit the campsite if you have enough housing available on the island.
The maximum number of villagers that can live on your Island is 10. Potential villagers can appear on the campsite and you can interact with them until you choose if you want to invite them or not.
