What is the Net used for in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? This Tool is used in order for you to catch different Insects and critters that can be found. They can appear in different locations in the game, and they can even save you from a Wasp attack.

Net Tool

One of the first tools that you can create after learning from the DIY Workshop of Tom Nook is the Flimsy Net. The net in the game has one purpose, and it’s to catch insects and critters that are crawling about. In order to use it, simply press A in order to make a sweeping action. Holding A will let you sneak and hold the net.

Resources obtained

The main resource you’ll be getting are Insects. There is a total of 80 species that you can catch in total within a year. Your main goal catching is to provide them to the Museum as part of the collection, as well as unlocking them in your Critterpedia app.

Once you have excess insects, you can sell them for bells at the shop. Another way to use them is to display them if you wish. For more information on the list of fish that you can catch, please check our Complete List of Insects guide.
