What are DIY Recipes? This app lets you check what items you can currently craft when using a work bench. You’ll get to see the item name, as well as the materials that you need so you’ll know which resource you’ll have to get.

Unlocking DIY Recipes

In order to get this app, simply head to Tom Nook after your arrival day in order for you to attend his DIY workshop. This will teach you how to create your tools with the items you’ve gathered. The DIY recipe is then added to your Nook Phone after.

Unlocking DIY Recipes

When you open the DIY Recipes app, you’ll be in the “Everything” tab which will show you all recipes that you’ve currently learned so far. You can press L and R to swap through the following categories:

* Everything

* Tools

* Housewares

* Miscellaneous

* Wall-mounted

* Wallpaper/Floor/Rugs

* Equipment

* Other

* Craftable

* Favorites

DIY Recipe Menu

Take note that you need to use a Workbench to make your item recipes. The app is only used for checking what materials are needed to make them.

How to obtain more DIY Recipes

There are different recipes in the game and methods on how to obtain them. You can learn recipes from the following:

Method	Description
Purchase them from the Store:	Checking out Timmy and Tommy’s store can provide you with recipes. There are times where they rotate their stocks so checking often everyday should be good practice.
Redeem your Nook Miles:	Some recipes are available through Nook Miles redemption only, such as stronger versions of your Tools.
Receive DIY Recipes as gifts from villagers:	Befriend your villagers and talk to them daily, there will be instances where you’ll be gifted DIY recipes.
Check the beach for Messages inside Bottles:	You’ll sometimes find messages in bottles on the beach that provide you with recipes. Check the beach side each day and walk along the shore to see if you find one.
Learn them when obtaining items:	Placing items in your pocket can trigger self-made recipes. For example, picking up an empty can and weeds will let you learn how to make a Succulent arrangement.
