You can get this mission by talking to a scout. The mission location is located east of the Broken Forge outpost. Sneak inside until you reach the fort’s interior where you’ll find a couple of highwaymen chopping up a poor mutt’s carcass. There are only two enemies inside but one of them is a high rank one so be prepared to take them by surprise.

Avoid using molotov or explosives inside since you’ll kill two of Timber’s friends in a cage beside where the highwaymen are dissecting the carcass. After killing the highwaymen, open the gate to find a scared timber. Pet him to get him to calm down. However, the mission is still not over.

Timber wants you to find the key to the cages to free his friends. He will be pointing where you’ll need to go. First, vault over the doorway where he’s pointing then climb to the ledge where he points you to.

From there, cross the iron pipe and climb to the next ledge. Walk across the wooden plank then climb to the next ledge again. From there, you just need to jump across cages until you reach the last cage with a dead dog inside with the key beside it. You have to drop from the opening above the cage to get the key.

From there, you just need to open the cages outside to get various loot. Return to Timber’s friends and free them. If you accidentally killed two of Timber’s friends due to fire or explosion as mentioned earlier, you still need to open their cage to complete the mission. After freeing his buddies, pet Timber once more to complete the mission. Timber will become available as a Fang for Hire in your Roster menu shortly after.
