Far Cry New Dawn Guide

What are Expeditions?

Upgrade the Expeditions first in Prosperity to unlock Expedition Missions. These missions will take you to isolated maps and will award you with a good amount of materials upon completion. Do the earliest exped missions according to your equipment and the mission’s difficulty level. You can play Coop with another player or bring a Gun/Fang for Hire.

You can also launch the expedition from the Journal menu. You can replay the expedition again, at a higher difficulty. Talk to Roger again when you have new expeditions available so you can launch them from your Journal.

The objectives of expeditions are simple. Locate the package in the immediate area where the pink flare is placed, retrieve it, head to the landing zone for a pick up, and escape. When searching the immediate area where the flare is deployed, listen to the tracker beeps which will become louder as you get closer to the package. After locating the package, make sure that you have looted the area and planned your escape route. The package is always a yellow/black backpack with a red beacon.

As soon as you pick it up, you’ll only have a few seconds to spare before its installed GPS tracker is activated. Roger will tell you where he’ll pick you up so make sure you’re already moving while waiting for his instructions. Once the GPS tracker is activated, the highwaymen will not stop sending forces to intercept you.

Avoid engaging the enemies first; make sure to run all the way to the landing zone where you’ll have to make your stand while waiting for Roger to arrive. Find a secure position where you can hide for cover while also giving you easy access to deal with attackers. Once the helicopter arrives, drop whatever you’re doing and board it immediately. If your ally is near you, he/she will automatically teleport inside the chopper so there’s no need to wait for them. Timber and Horatio will be left behind but they’ll be fine, as long as they don’t get focused.

Take note that the enemies will still continue attacking the chopper as it touches down and as you take off so make sure to take out nearby threats as much as you can. While you’re flying away, you can still shoot from the chopper.
