Fly to Lumiose City and land in the center of the city. Cafe Lysandre is your destination and it's just a few steps away from the Pokemon Center where you'll land. Heal up first and prepare your party since you'll be getting into a lot more battles again. Enter the cafe and talk to the waiter and waitress. They'll immediately engage you to battle.

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,840)

  • LV46 Scrafty (Dark/Fighting)

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,840)

  • LV46 Liepard (Dark)

Examine the cabinet beside the waitress and your character will discover a hidden door. Proceed inside to enter Lysandre Labs. Continue upstairs and you'll discover that Lysandre is waiting there for you.

Team Flare Lysandre (Prize Money: p9,800)

  • LV45 Mienfoo (Fighting)
  • LV49 Gyarados (Water/Flying)
  • LV45 Murkrow (Dark/Flying)
  • LV47 Pyroar (Fire/Normal)

At this point, your party should be composed of several LV50+ Pokemon; otherwise, you'll have a really hard time dealing with Lysandre's team. First is Mienfoo. This is a pure fighting-type Pokemon so you can use strong Psychic or Flying moves (like HM03 Fly) to easily eliminate it. Murkrow isn't that much of a threat either so it will go down quickly by exploiting one of its multiple weaknesses.

The problem starts with Gyarados. This Pokemon boasts excellent speed and attack rating. Not to mention, it will use Outrage, a 3-turn attack that has 100% hit rate and 120 physical power rating. Combine it with Gyarados' innately high attack rating, expect each hit to dish out a lot of damage. Your best bet is to quickly put it down using Electric attacks since its Water/Flying type will work very effectively against it.

Lastly, Lysandre's Pyroar. This Pokemon has high speed and attack power as well. It is fond of using Hyper Voice regularly. It's not as destructive as Gyarados' Outrage but it can still put your party in peril if not taken care of immediately.

After the battle, you'll have to explore the whole room. Lysandre will tell you that one of scientists in the floor has the key to the elevator.

Guide Image

Take note of the blue tiles with directional arrows. Stepping on these tiles will force you to move (or spin) according to the tile's direction until you hit an object or wall. Start by going to the left then getting to the sight of the waiting Team Flare member there.

Guide Image

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,840)

  • LV46 Swalot (Poison)

This particular enemy will use Stockpile a lot. This move allows it to “swallow” energy and to increase its stats. When the Stockpiled energy is released, it will deal a lot of damage. Consider taking this enemy out as quickly as possible.

After defeating the grunt, there's no where else to go but to step on the green portal. After arriving in another area, talk to the TF member ahead and defeat her in battle.

Guide Image

Team Flare Aliana (Prize Money: p6,720)

  • LV46 Mightyena (Dark)
  • LV48 Druddigon (Dragon)

Aliana's Mightyena isn't that much of a threat. However, you should take Druddigon seriously since it can deal really high damage. Use strong ice-type attack on it if you have any. After defeating Aliana, step on the green portal to proceed since the other portal will just take you back to the entrance.

Step on the blue tile and wait until you stop. Fight the TF member ahead. After defeating him, enter the room to the north to find some familiar-looking people. They'll give you Revives.

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,720)

  • LV45 Swalot (Poison)
  • LV43 Liepard (Dark)

Leave the room then step on the tiles going to the right then south. Head to the right, right in the line of the sight of the next TF grunt.

Guide Image

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,760)

  • LV44 Liepard (Dark)
  • LV44 Mightyena (Dark)

Walk to the north then fight another grunt to the east.

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,760)

  • LV44 Houndoom (Dark/Fire)
  • LV44 Toxicroak (Poison/Fighting)

Step on the tile going to the right and you'll be relayed to more tiles. Once you stopped, step on another tile heading to the right and fight the waiting grunt there.

Guide Image

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,800)

  • LV43 Manectric (Electric)
  • LV45 Scrafty (Dark/Fighting)

Save your game and enter the door to the north. Two more TF scientists will be waiting there. Approach them to start a battle against them.

Guide Image

Team Flare Celosia (Prize Money: p6,720)

  • LV46 Manectric (Electric)
  • LV48 Drapion (Poison/Dark)

Manectric will annoyingly use Thunder Wave often. It also has Thunderbolt so expect considerable damage from it, unless your Pokemon has immunity or resistance against electric attacks. Drapion will prepare for its attack by using Acupressure, sharply increasing its Sp Atk stat then use Night Slash.

Team Flare Bryony (Prize Money: p6,720)

  • LV44 Liepard (Dark)
  • LV48 Bisharp (Dark/Steel)

Bisharp is probably the newest Pokemon you'll see at this point. It has a really high attack rating and will regularly use Night Slash, a decent physical move with higher critical rate. Using Fighting-type moves against this opponent will deal the heaviest damage while you can exploit any of its other weaknesses, except for conflicting ones like Fairy and Bug (e.g. Bug is effective against Dark but since Bisharp has a Steel subtype – which cuts Bug damage to half – the final damage will be calculated as normal)

After defeating them, you'll learn more about Team Flare's plans. Exit the room and you'll see two tiles going south. Take the left one until you get stopped by a wall. Follow the path leading to the southwest without touching any tiles and you should find a green portal. Step on it to be transported to the next location. There's a Black Glasses waiting there and another grunt waiting to the north.

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,800)

  • LV43 Mightyena (Dark)
  • LV45 Toxicroak (Poison/Fighting)

Use the portal then enter the room to the north. You'll find a Rare Candy at the end of this room. Leave the room and use the green portal again to return to the previous location. Now step on the tile going to the left. You'll be back in the entrance of the room where you defeated Celosia and Bryony. Head to the right of the TF grunt there and step non the tile going south.

After stopping, use the green portal and it will take you to an enclosed space with a Hyper Potion. Use the portal again then step on the southbound tile to the right. (The left will just loop you back here)

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,840)

  • LV46 Golbat (Poison/Flying)

Step on the portal then head to the right. You'll have to defeat another grunt.

Guide Image

Team Flare Grunt (Prize Money: p1,760)

  • LV44 Toxicroak (Poison/Fighting)
  • LV44 Liepard (Dark)

After her, continue to the right and enter the room there. Talk to the TF member there to engage her to battle.

Team Flare Mable (Prize Money: p6,720)

  • LV46 Houndoom (Dark/Fire)
  • LV48 Weavile (Dark/Ice)

Weavile has both high atk and speed stats. It can dish considerable damage but it's fairly fragile that you can finish it off quickly. After defeating Mable, you'll get the Elevator Key from her. Leave the room and backtrack to the west. Step on the portal there then go to the left without stepping on any tiles. You'll finally see the elevator. Step on the tile going south and you'll be back in the entrance. There's a boss battle ahead so you can leave the place and heal up at the Pokemon Center near the Lysandre Cafe. Once ready, save your game and take the elevator.

Guide Image

Follow the stairs to the left and you'll finally find the giant trapped behind laser bars. He'll also show you a scene of a tragic history that happened thousands of years ago. Lysandre will tell you to meet him in his chambers so go back to the elevator and select B3.

Continue to the north to find Lysandre and another Team Flare scientist. You'll have to fight and defeat the latter to leave this place.

Guide Image

Team Flare Xerosic (Prize Money: p6,720)

  • LV46 Crobat (Poison/Flying)
  • LV48 Malamar (Dark/Psychic)

Guide Image

Crobat boasts an exceptional speed stat so expect it to act quickly. Though it doesn't have high defense stats, it makes up for its goo attack and sp attack stats. It can also make your Pokemon flinch with Cross Poison and Air Slash; if not, it will deal high damage with its Steel Wing attack.

Malamar in the other hand, is a considerable threat thanks to its Superpower move. However, this is a double-edged sword since the move also lowers the user's attack and defense stats after using it. If you can take the damage from this attack within a few turns, you can effectively take out Malamar since it only has average defense/sp defense stat to begin with. Other than Superpower, Malamar is also fond of using Psycho Cut.

After the battle, Xerosic will tell you to push either the blue or red button. The red button of course will activate the superweapon. It doesn't matter what you choose since the foolish scientist will still activate the superweapon. After the scene, leave the lab and heal up your Pokemon as necessary. Make your preparations and fly to Geosenge Town.

Beware of Malamar's Superpower if it has the Contrary ability. While Superpower usually does lower the user's attack and defense, Malamar will have these stats RAISED with Contrary, therefore making it nearly unstoppable. Take due care if it has this abiity. The Suction Cups ability is not something to fear...all that does is prevent Malamar from being forced to switch out. I hope this cleared the air somewhat...good luck!
