Death Flags

**SPOILER WARNING**

There are only certain chapters in the game that are considered "Death Flags" where a character can die BUT you can do something to prevent it. These events are very important and you have to make the correct decisions in order to save your characters. This is also required if you want to unlock the trophy "They All Live".

The spoiler texts are hidden in white text so you have to highlight the area under the headers to read the descriptions.

Chapter 4

Jessica: When Jessica is being dragged away, you have to take all the risky paths and execute the QTEs perfectly to reach her in time. Taking any safe route or failing too many QTEs will cause her Death.

Chapter 6

Matt: When being surrounded by the Caribou, do not attack the animal or successfully complete all QTEs. Also, in the radio tower, Matt can die if he attempts to save Emily twice or he doesn't have the flare gun. You can attempt to save Emily once, then jump.

Matt: In Chapter 5 when Emily suggests to go to the fire tower. If Matt agreed with her, Emily will give the flare gun they'll obtain later to Matt, and Matt will fire it. If Matt attempts to save Emily twice, he'll encounter the Wendigo later on and since he doesn't have the flare gun, he doesn't have any way to defend himself. For best results, disagree with Emily so Matt keeps the flare gun.

Chris: Don't shoot Ashley in the end of the episode. Do nothing!

Chapter 8

Emily: Successfully execute all QTEs when chased by the Wendigo. If she was bitten, don't shoot her.

Chris: Shoot all the wendigos when running back to the lodge. Upon reaching the lodge, as long as you didn't shoot Ashley in Chapter 6, she'll let you in.

Chapter 9

Ashley: If you decide to investigate the noise, don't open the trap door you'll come across with. Just ignore it.

Chapter 10

Josh: His fate is determined by the number of Tattoo card Twins collectible you'll find. As long as you find all of them during the playthrough where you want to save everyone, Josh will survive. Apparently, the most important piece is the Journal you'll pick up from the Mill. Make sure to grab it.

Jessica: When given the option to Run or Hide, always choose to hide (and staying still). Then make sure to exit together.

Sam, Mike, and Everyone Else: In the lodge, stay still as Sam then choose to save Mike. Next, always select the Hide option, and once everyone has exited the lodge, Sam will automatically hit the light switch and end the game. HItting the switch early will burn everyone else inside the cabin while Sam survives.
