Chapter 9: Two Hours Until Dawn (Ashley and Sam)

When given the option, select “Reassure”. Follow Sam and Emily along the tunnel then keep hugging the wall to the left until you get in an alcove. You should find another Danger Totem on the floor. After examining it, continue walking until a cutscene is triggered. Open the sewer cover and once Ash gets in, close the sewer cover as instructed.

Now continue along the dark tunnel until you get the prompt to either investigate the voice or rejoin the group. There’s a totem we want to pick up so let’s investigate. Now follow the dark tunnel until you reach a fork. Head to the left outside the current camera view to find a Loss Totem on the ground.

(Death flag!) Now continue along the main path and DO NOT OPEN THE TRAP DOOR. (Opening the trap door will let the wendigo in and kill Ashley. This will unlock the “You Let the Wrong One In!” trophy. If you want, you can exit the game, back up the game save, load the game and deliberately open the trap door to get the trophy. After that, make sure to copy your backup save and overwrite the save on the console) Walk past the trap door and slide down the tunnel to regroup with the others.

(QTE Warning) The control will now switch to Sam. As you climb the rock wall, you’ll get decision branches. You’re not really in a hurry so you can choose whatever you want. Just watch out for the QTE prompts. Once Sam reaches the top, find the stairs to the right and take it. Rocks will fall down, destroying the stairs so continue to the right until you reach a cavern. There’s a Death Totem on the ground to the left so make sure to pick it up. There’s a mystical symbol on the wall that you can examine but that doesn’t do anything so leave the room.

(QTE Warning) Go to the left of the walkway this time and press the QTE buttons as prompted. Pick up the rod when prompted and continue along the way. Drop down and head towards the metal door to the right to trigger a cutscene. Hit the wendigo when prompted and the chapter will come to an end.
