At What Price |
Open Bear Trap: Mike no longer had a useable machete |
Amputate Fingers: Mike still had a useable machete |
[Chapter 5] On the way to the morgue and after picking up the machete along the way, Mike will encounter a severed hand waving in a strange contraption. You don't need to interact with this contraption as it doesn't affect the storyline at all. However, if you happen to interact with the trap, you'll have to choose whether to open the trap or amputate your fingers.
Butterfly Effect Update: (Open Bear Trap)
Opening the bear trap will destroy the machete and Mike won't be able to use it later in Chapter 9. (Furthermore, he has two less usable fingers which sucks in a way)
Butterfly Effect Update: (Amputate Fingers)
Amputating Mike's fingers will still allow him to keep a usable machete but he'll still spend the rest of the game with two less fingers (no effect in the storyline or choices at all)
Butterfly Effect Update: (Ignore the trap)
This is not the obvious choice but ignoring the contraption altogether will allow Mike to retain all of his fingers and still keep a very usable machete.
