Death

Black Totems signifies Death to the person who finds it. How you play will determine whether or not these prophecies come true. As you unlock Totems, "The Events of the Past" will become clear.

Death Totem #1

[Prologue] After Beth turns on the flashlight on her phone, follow the path and you'll find this along the way.

Death Totem #4

[Chapter 4] Once you're in control of Chris, continue until you exit the lodge. Follow the trail until you reach a wooden fence. Turn left instead to find another path leading to a clue and totem. Examine the pig's head on the ground to register the Mystery Man clue then pick up the totem just across the pig's head.

Death Totem #3

[Chapter 5] After shooting the lock of the chapel and leaving it, you'll come across a large hall with a staircase in the middle. Don't go down yet; instead, go to the left and look for the glimmer on the ground to find this totem.

Death Totem #2

[Chapter 5] Once you're controlling Matt, go down the trail. Emily will go to the cable car station but don't follow her. Once the camera angle changes, go to the left and interact with the can of red paint. Next, continue further to the right to find another totem.

Death Totem #5

[Chapter 7] After breaking through the wooden gate with the mine cart, you'll find yourself in a large cavern with the lift. Head to the right and ignore the ladder for now. Continue along the tunnel and follow the tracks to the dead end to find a Death Totem there.

Death Totem #6

[Chapter 9] Near the end of the chapter when controlling as Sam, there will be three possible paths after she climbs up the ledge of the rock wall. Take the wooden stairs to the right then rocks will fall down, destroying the stairs so continue to the right until you reach a cavern. There’s a Death Totem on the ground to the left so make sure to pick it up.
