First Murderer

Prequisite: As soon as you reach the Nexus Operations area. Talk to the turian named Mariette in the Militia Office.

Talk to Mariette, a turian in the Militia Office in the Operations area. She’ll ask for your help in proving the innocence of Initiative personnel named Nilken.

Talk to the prison guard named Sgt. Aker beside the arms vendor to be allowed to talk to Nilken. Talk to Nilken himself to update the objective.

Next, you’ll have to speak with Kandros in the Militia Office to get more details about Nilken’s case. After that, your next objective is to talk to the witness named Shaw. As an additional objective, you can playback the recording of the incident from a terminal in the militia office.

Cassidy Shaw is located in Addison’s office, a short walk from the militia office. After talking to her, you’ll learn that the body has been left in Eos but they couldn’t retrieve it because of the danger. You have to speak with Tann next.

After talking to Tann, he’ll give you the coordinates where the body has been left. You’ll get to investigate it once you reach Eos. Upon reaching Eos, you have to investigate the murder scene south of Site 2: Resilience. The mission marker will be visible in the map, regardless if you activate the mission or not.

Chief Reynold’s body is nowhere to be found, only pieces of his armor. Scan the first armor piece. then follow the trail. Scan the other pieces you find along the way until you reach a cave where several alien bugs are nesting. Destroy them all then scan the omni-tool. You’ll have to confront Rensus back in the Nexus afterward.

Back in the Nexus, talk to Rensus and relay your findings to him. He’ll leave the decision to you whether you’ll exile him or release him. Whatever your decision, the quest will be complete.
