A Better Beginning (1)

This is the start of the real main story missions. These are usually long ones that require a series of smaller tasks and sidequests before you can proceed and complete. At the moment, here are the list of operations that you can tackle and complete:

To continue with the main story, head back to the Hyperion - Habitation Deck then head to SAM Node. During this conversation with SAM, you’ll finally unlock Profiles. These option serve as interchangeable classes in the game, depending on how many skill points you allotted to the three skill trees. If you completed a couple of quests in the Nexus before talking to SAM, you should have leveled up and gained 6 skill points. Depending on the skill tree where you placed these skill points, that’s the profile you should be able to select at the moment. Otherwise, you should be able to select one after leveling up. Refer to this guide’s Profiles and Skills sections for more information.

You can check out your father’s quarters as well. There are audio excerpts from Dr. T’soni and some archived logs on your father’s terminal. Additionally, there’s a scale model of the SSV-Normandy SR2 on the shelf above your father’s bed that you can pick up and display later in your own quarters.

Next, you have to go to your own ship. Head to the tram and access the new area called the Docking Bay. Cora will join along the way. After exiting the tram, a cutscene will play where you’ll see your ship for the first time. Welcome to The Tempest. After the scene, you don’t need to explore the ship yet since your crew will be busy with the flight preparations. Head to the bridge for the meantime to trigger a scene and launch the Tempest.

The Tempest

You’ll spend a good amount of time inside the ship since this is your home away from home. As such, it will be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the different sections of the ship. For more detailed tour about the ship’s interior, you can refer to this page.

There are other systems to explore, most of them for research and for finding resources in certain anomalies. it will be worthwhile to return to the Nexus to at least start some of the side quests and tasks there. After starting them, you can now proceed with your main mission, which is to check the failed outpost attempt in Eos.

Travel to the Pytheas system to continue with your main mission. When ready, access the Galaxy map once again to continue with the Eos expedition. There’ll be an anomaly detected so use your scanner and send a probe there to find an asteroid with rich mineral deposits.

Once ready, enter Eos’ orbit, find the dropzone and select it to land.
