Talents and Secret Talents

Talents are innate character traits that help increase their success rate when crafting or doing a related Specialty. All characters will start off with random traits as soon as you get them, except for Blessings of Mana - a talent that can only be learned by spellcasters. If you want a specific character to have a talent you want them to have, you’ll have to keep resetting the game to the point before you recruit them and until they get the talents you want.

As mentioned, talents affect the success rate of Specialties. For example, characters who doesn’t have the Taste talent won't be that successful when cooking. Fortunately, the game offers a way to unlock secret talents by letting them create items through Specialties that they’re not really that efficient. For example, if you keep somebody without the Taste talent cook dishes over and over again, he/she will eventually unlock that talent. Or have characters without Originality or Nimble Fingers talents to keep crafting accessories until they unlock it.

After unlocking a secret talent, you’ll get a corresponding confirmation popup and the character gains 100 SP. Take note however, that there are certain characters who can’t unlock specific talents no matter how hard you try. (Refer to the list below)

A great trick to do when trying to unlock talents is to have either the Orchestra Super Specialty or the Goddess’ Arrival song (Music Specialty) songs play in the background while you’re attempting to craft. These songs increase the success rate of any specialty, making it easier to unlock secret talents.

*The exception is Mavell. She's a frontline fighter who can have this talent.
