How to Recruit Welch

Welch Vineyard is another optional character that you can recruit without specific character requirements. However, you can only recruit her once you have the Silvalant Emblem as part of the story. (You won't find her if you visit the hidden cottage without the Silvalant Emblem in your possession) You also need to make sure that you have an available slot in your party, of course. To recruit her, do the following:

After getting the Silvalant Emblem, sail to Eckdart and follow the road, past Ionis and across first bridge, as shown in the map below.

Before reaching the second bridge, there should be a maple forest. Enlarge your map by pressing START. Continue heading to the southeastern tip of the continent until you find a hidden hut.

Once you reach it, the scenes will take place automatically. Welch will offer to join your party. Agree to bring her along and she'll become a permanent member of your party.
