Monster Infestation of Mt. Eckdart

This is an optional area you can explore to get various loot, whether you have Ioshua in your party or not. To find this hidden location, exit the Eckdart and follow the dirt road leading to the red mountain, on the western side of the town near the cliffs by the sea.

Once you’re in the mountain path, just follow the only path leading to a cottage. If you have Ioshua, you’ll trigger a short cutscene once you reach it. After the scene, you can talk to Foster to rest up and fully refresh your party. Once ready, leave the cottage and continue north.

You’ll find a savepoint in the area that you have to clear of monsters. Save your game and approach the monster to fight and defeat it. You have to repeat the process for all monsters in this map. The area is an enclosed location so you don’t have to worry about getting lost. There are also no random encounters here so you can freely explore as needed. Here’s a quick rundown of the items you can find here:

1. From the savepoint and approach the first monster to fight it. Examine the shining object to the upper right to get ?Herb.

2. Go to the left to find the second monster. Examine the bushes to the upper right to get Rose Hip.

3. Head south to find the third monster and a chest (Blueberries)

4. Return to the previous screen and go left to find the fourth monster and Spectacles

5. Return to previous screen and go up to find fifth monster and Fine Shield. Return to save point.

6. Head north to find sixth monster and a ?Herb

7. Go left to find seventh monster and Rod of Jewels.

8. Return to previous screen and go right to find the eighth monster and Lavender to the right.

9. Continue to the lower right, defeat the ninth monster and get the ?Herb from the bushes.

10. Continue to the upper right to reach the next area. Grab the Wolfsbane along the way, continue north to defeat monster.

11. Go north to another screen, defeat the monster and get the Elven Cap.

12. Continue south two screens to defeat the last monster and to get Robe of Deception.

Once you’ve defeated all monsters, Roddick will mention reporting back to Foster. Head back to the cottage and report back to him to get an Elven Bow. This is a powerful weapon for Ronyx quite early in the game. (Take note that you’ll only get this reward if you have Ioshua in your party, since he’s needed to trigger Foster’s appearance)

After exploring Mt. Eckdart, you can return to Eckdart to rest at the inn. To continue with the story, follow the main road until you reach Ionis.
