Old Race Ruins Walkthrough

This is an optional map that will allow you to Recruit Erys if you met the right conditions. Even if you’re not planning to recruit her, you can still get good loot from the chests inside. To reach it, start off from Silvalant. Enlarge your world map and head to the northeastern tip of the frigid continent, as shown below. Continue until you reach a split path along the coastal cliffs. Take the path north, then turn to the left. This is an unmarked location so just approach the dead end and you’ll enter this dungeon automatically. If you reached the Cape of Silvalant, you’ve gone too far. Simply backtrack to the split and head north.

B1F: Once inside, go up to reach an intersection. Head to the right to reach a dead end with a Medicine Bottle from the chest. Return to the intersection and go to the next screen. Pick up the Sacrificial Doll by the broken bridge. Finally, return to the previous screen and head left this time. Grab the Wolfsbane along the way and exit to the next screen. Take the stairs down.

Fighting the Ancient Guardian

B2F: Head south to the next screen to find an intersection and savepoint. Go south again to get ?Item (Sweet Syrup). Return to savepoint, go to the right. In the next screen, go to the lower-right path. Loot the Kitty Suit in the following screen. Return to the save point for now then head left and downstairs.

B3F: There are three paths from the stairs. Head to the southwest first to get a Sweet Syrup. Continue to the next screen to the lower-right then go up to the upper-right to find a door north. Enter it to get Medicine Bottle and Steel Armor.

Continue to the right and approach the stairs. You’ll be greeted by a ghostly NPC. Continue downstairs afterward.

B4F: Follow the path and continue to the next screen. There’s a boss battle waiting inside the door to the north so prepare your team. Enter the door and head to the middle of the room to trigger the boss fight.

BOSS: Ancient Guardian

This large boss has a very powerful beam and charge attack that can take out any character along the line. Just to be safe, have your party spread out and your spellcasters busy with the attacks. You can also sandwich it between your two characters so it can only kill one of them in case it releases its beam attack. Keep your spellcaster(s) out of the way and use stat-boosting items to help you defeat this menace faster.

After defeating the boss, you’re free to loot the treasures in each of the rooms. Get the Divine Fury SFT, Silver Greaves, Steel Armor, Air Slicer, and Elven Slippers. From here, head back to the savepoint.

To Erys’ Chamber

B2F: From the savepoint, head to the right then go up. Mine a meteorite from the ore then approach the stairs. The ghostly NPC will appear again. Continue upstairs next.

B1F: Go to the right and enter the room to get Steel Helmet and Orb of the Valkyrie. Go to the lower left to find Roundel Dagger. Cross the bridge to the south then continue downstairs.

B2F: Head to the left, then go up. Enter the room to the north to find an ?Item (Resurrection Mist) and Robe of Deception from the chests. Return to the previous area and cross the bridge to the left to find a Dwarven Sword. Continue south then go downstairs.

B3F: Mine the Rainbow Diamond from the ore near the stairs. Head to the left and grab the Steel Helmet along the way. Take the lower right path to reach a dead end with Silver Greaves. Return to the previous screen then exit to the lower left next. Mine the ?Mineral then go downstairs.

B4F: Mine the ?Mineral from the ore to the left. Continue north to the next screen. Mine the Star Ruby and ?Mineral from the ores in this screen. Grab the Elven Cap from the chest on the dead end to the right and the Sacrificial Doll to the left.

If you’re going to Recruit Erys or if you can’t because of requirement issues, your exploration of this ruins should be done at this point. You can backtrack to the savepoint and exit the ruins.

[Recruiting Erys

]If you want to just explore this dungeon without losing Mavelle, it’s possible to completely explore it without encountering Erys’ body. Just avoid entering her chamber in B4F.

* Must have Ashlay, Ioshua and Mavelle in your party.

* If you have Ashlay and decide to help Ioshua, you’ll be able to Recruit Erys. However, you’ll lose Mavelle permanently and she will be replaced by Erys

* If you have Cyuss in your party and you decided to help Ioshua, you won’t be able to Recruit Erys and you’ll LOSE Mavelle permanently.

* If you decide to leave Erys’ body alone, you can still keep Mavelle but you won’t get Erys anymore. You won’t unlock the fifth movie in the gallery.
