An Audience with the King of Van

After leaving Ionis, follow the long road to the south then turn around the mountain to find the kingdom along the road to the north. As soon as you arrive, Ronyx will mention about talking to the King directly to ask for help. Before heading to the throne room, you’re free to explore around town.

Rest at the inn to the left of the entrance, then check the shoe shop across the street to find some footwear upgrades for your party. From the shoe shop, continue to the upper right and take the stairs. Go downstairs to the right to find a chest containing a ?Item at the end.

Backtrack to the previous screen then take the stairs going left. Enter the first house to the right to find a chest with Spectacles. From there, just head to the western side of the city where you can find Oroshi the Peddler and a food mart. Check their wares if you want.

Continue upstairs to the left to find the city’s skill guild and weapon shop, both in one building. While you’re there, get the new skill, Combat 3 then check the weapon shop for any possible Equipment upgrades. Once ready, backtrack to the main stairs in the middle of the city leading to the castle.

The guards will meet your party. If you have Ashlay, he’ll do the talking but if not, your party will still get to meet the King nevertheless. During the audience with the King, you’ll be taken to the Trial Chamber to gain the King’s trust. You’ll have to clear this subterranean dungeon as part of the story.
