How to Recruit Ashlay

Ashlay is a powerful, one-handed swordsman you can recruit early in the game, as soon as you reach Tatroi. To recruit him, you only need to meet one condition: make sure that Cyuss is not in your party. We also listed some of the changes you’ll experience in your game after getting him in your party.

* Ashlay is a prerequisite for recruiting Erys later

* 5th movie won’t be available in the movie gallery

* Phia won’t join temporarily early in the game but can recruit her later on

* Mavell joins automatically but can’t force her out without getting Ioshua

* No Private Action to get Millie’s amulet in Silvalant

Inside the area, take the stairs east. Head west to find Ashlay and talk to him. Next, have Roddick join the arena and win any rank.

Once done, head to the port (south of the weapon/food shop) to find Ashlay. After he introduces himself, you’ll have the option to let him join. If you entered the Astral Caves without him, you’ll miss the chance to recruit him forever.

After recruiting him, you’ll automatically board the ship to Astral and skip exploring the Astral Cave for now. Don’t worry; you’ll get a chance to explore it from the Astral City side as part of the story.
