Project Wingman’s Conquest Mode is considered the game’s end-game, where players are treated to a challenging and thrilling single-player experience outside the game’s engaging campaign mode. With the procedurally-generated missions, rewards, and permadeath mechanic, only the toughest and skilled players are expected to retake back occupied Cascadia in 43 increasingly difficult missions with just one life. In this page, we will discuss Conquest Mode’s Hiring Den to help you decide which pilots to hire or airships to buy.
The Hiring Den in Conquest Mode is where you can use credits to recruit allied pilots and purchase airships to provide support for you during missions. No matter how skilled you are, you’ll still appreciate the presence of allied fighters even just to keep the enemies occupied and give you some breathing space. They can’t be shot down and will remain active for the entirety of your run.
Pilots come with different ranks and their own corresponding aircraft. You can only recruit a maximum number of pilots depending on their rank. For example, you can only recruit up to two War Heroes compared to six Rookie Pilots. Take note that the cost for additional pilots will increase, even if they’re from the same rank. For example, the first Rookie pilot you can recruit costs 2000c while the sixth rookie pilot will cost 9000c.
In the table below, you’ll see all pilots and airships you can get using credits, as well as their maximum number, cost, etc.
Pilot Type | Aircraft | Max | Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Rookie Pilot | F/E-4 | 6 | 2000, 3500, 5000, 6500, 8000, 9500 |
Competent Pilot | F/C-15 | 6 | 4000, 6500, 9000, 11500, 14000, 16500 |
Mercenary Pilot | SK.27 | 6 | 8000, 11000, 14000, 17000, 20000, 23000 |
Frontline Ace | F/C-16 | 3 | 10000, 13500, 17000 |
Infamous Ace | F/S-15 | 3 | 15000, 19500, 24000 |
War Hero | Sk.37 | 2 | 20000, 25500 |
You can also buy airships to accompany your team in missions. As an additional cost, you’ll also need Cordiums to buy and upgrade your airships. There are four airship classes and you can only buy one per class. Unlike the pilots you can hire, you can further upgrade your airship up to their Mk.3 versions by spending cordium and credits.
Cordium is obtained by completing missions on certain locations. However, the cordium distribution between territories will be randomized per run so it’s possible to be able to get a 205-class (4 cordiums) very early in the run or even no airship at all due to the lack of cordiums from the earlier territories.
Airship Class | Mk.1 Cost | Mk.2 Cost | Mk.3 Cost |
---|---|---|---|
Anura | 1 Cordium, 12500c | 2 Cordium, 19500c | 3 Cordium, 25000c |
Arcion | 2 Cordium, 15000c | 3 Cordium, 22000c | 4 Cordium, 34000c |
Littoria | 3 Cordium, 17500c | 4 Cordium, 22500c | 5 Cordium, 30000c |
