As with other JPRGs, you’ll have access to items in the game, albeit only a limited variety. Of course, there are staples like recovery items, crafting items, key items, and other valuables. You can find most of these items from
Gathering Spots, chests, or through enemy drops. You can even purchase recovery items from Lisanna back in your guild as soon as you get access to that facility. In our item guide, we will discuss the different items you’ll find in the game and cover the important ones that you have to pay attention to. You can review the items in your possession by accessing the Item tab in your Main Menu.
Consumables
These are items that you can use during battle or when outside the field. Using it in battle will of course use a turn so keep your HP/MP up by using consumables outside the battle whenever possible. Salves restore your HP, Ethernano bottles replenish MP, Revival Remedies revive fallen allies, and a variety of cures for status ailments. You can buy these from Lisanna once you have unlocked the Shop facility in your guild. Since your party’s HP and MP are fully healed whenever you’re back in town or your guild, we strongly recommend to use these items only during battle.
Ingredients
These are a variety of items you can pick up from gathering spots in the field or in towns/cities, or dropped by enemies upon defeat. These items are used for synthesizing Lacrima and remodeling guild Facilities. You can also sell excess ingredients to the Guild Shop. When Synthesizing or Remodeling, you can also expand the Ingredients Info popup to see which monster drops the item or where you can farm them. Gathering spots have fixed locations and they’ll also reset upon leaving the area, visiting a different area, then returning again. This makes it easy to farm said materials that you can get from gathering spots.
Valuables
These are key items obtained during certain requests or story events. These items don't have any other use aside from their intended purpose. They also can’t be sold to the Shop. You can view their individual description from the Items tab in the Main Menu.
Delicious Candy
Nikora is a celestial being under Lucy’s command that also lives in her house back in Magnolia. Nikora loves items called Delicious Candy so bring him the candies you’ve collected to get rewards. The books and journals given to you by Nikora are key items and getting them will allow you to synthesize character-specific Lacrimas. You can get all rewards by collecting 50 candies.
Unlike other items in the game, candies are hard to come by and can be tricky to find especially if you’re not into exploring. In a town or city, look around dead-ends and alleys then examine highlighted barrels. In the field, watch out for wooden crates that you can destroy to find these candies. That said, always take a good look around whenever you visit a location.
Medals
These are like in-game trophies/achievements that you’ll unlock after meeting specific conditions. Aside from tracking your achievements, the game will vaguely tell you that by collecting enough of these, something good will happen when you take on a subjugation request. You won’t be able to see these medals in your possession so you can keep track of the medals you collected by visiting Lucy’s House and accessing the bookshelf (Gallery) near the door. The percentage of the event trigger will be displayed in the lower-right corner, which the chance further increased by collecting a certain number of additional medals.
