Episode 1: Dragon Hunting

After the cutscenes, you’ll be in the plaza with your other guild mates and allies. Your group will be divided into four teams. While there are open slots, only Gajeel and Ichiya are the available characters you can assign to those slots. Teams Natsu and Erza only have 2 members each so it’s up to you where to assign those two. While your party is split up, you can’t rearrange them though you should still be able to swap out their Lacrima as necessary. Talk to Mavis to proceed with the story.

[-] Fight the dragonlings and fight the boss

First, you’ll start with Team Natsu. You’ll have Laxus as a guest character and two available slots. You can bring Ichiya since Natsu and Laxus are both dragon slayers so adding Gajeel (who’s another dragon slayer) won’t be beneficial. You can find the dragonlings wandering about so you have to actively seek them out and defeat them in battle. These dragonlings have no weaknesses or resistances so feel free what attacks you want to use. You won’t have problems since Laxus is a powerhouse and will just plow through the enemies with ease.

There’s only a straightforward path to follow so just defeat all dragonlings you encounter along the way. You’ll find a recovery point before reaching the market area (which is also filled with dragonlings) so use that as necessary. You don’t need to fight the dragonlings here so just save and head straight to the boss, which is immediately visible as you head south. Approach the dragon and start the battle.

Hell Flame Dragon, Atlas Flame	None	Fire

This dragon can resist both Natsu and Laxus’ fire attacks. Atlas Flame will start the battle in its Flame Form which will give it an ATK Up Buff and HP regeneration. Fortunately, you’ll have access to the “Eat Flames” special command available only for this battle. Have Natsu eat the flames to restore his HP and increase his ATK. This will also remove Atlas Flame’s buffs. From hereon, whenever the boss assumes its Flame Form, always react with Natsu eating its flames.

Whenever Laxus attacks, don’t hesitate to trigger Follow Ups since these will ignore the boss’ resistances - allowing you to deal more damage. Repeat the steps until you fill up your fairy gauge, in which you’ll have to unleash a Magic Chain to finish the boss off. Overall, this battle shouldn’t be that hard especially with Natsu’s special Eat Flame command and just having Laxus keeping up the offensive.
