Episode 2: Rebuild the Guild

Makarov will remind you to help upgrade the Facilities and rebuild the guild. First, talk to Levy to get a brief overview about the Laboratory, then talk to Mirajane to learn how to upgrade the facilities via the Guild Ledger, then finally Lisanna to explain how the Shop works.

For more information on how upgrading and remodeling works, as well as the complete list of facilities and their effects, please refer to our in-depth Guild and Facilities Guide.

Next, examine the Guild Ledger and pay for the upgrades of all three Facilities available there. After paying the required amount, the Upgrade Tasks will be updated and indicate the individual materials needed to complete the upgrade for each facility, as listed below.

* Laboratory - Regular Flasks, found in Magnolia along the river.

* Request Board - Regular Planks, found in Magnolia, in an alley to the southeast.

* Regular Pots - The Beast (Habitat: Boundary Forest)

Press down to open your Local Map and you should see the two hammer icons, indicating the location of the Regular Flasks and Regular Planks, as well as the markers for the NPCs with Community Service Requests. Simply head to the markers to collect the upgrade materials and complete these CS requests along the way. Return to the guild and report the completion of the upgrade tasks for the Laboratory and Request Board. Upgrading your Facilities will also earn you a bit of renown and help increase your Guild Rank.

For the last material, open the overworld map and travel to the Boundary Forest. Head to the marker to find The Beast standing before the bridge. Defeat it in battle to receive the upgrade material. However, don’t return to the guild yet.

Head west to find a crate that contains a Delicious Candy, then check out the NPC to the southwest and hand over 3 Plain Prunes to complete his CSR and get a Flame Lacrima in return. Defeat the golem behind him to safely reach the chest containing a Mind Lacrima. From there, continue north to find a chest containing 1000J. After looting the gathering points, Fast-Travel back to the town (not to the guild).

If you haven’t done so yet, return to Lucy’s House and give the candies to Nikora - you should have at least 5 at this point to receive the first set of his rewards. Once done, head back to the guild to complete the upgrade task. After handing over the materials and reporting to all quest givers (or via the Guild Ledger), the chapter will be complete.
