Walkthrough

After learning the Chop Down Technique from the captain of the S.S. Anne, you will gain access to the Vermilion City Gym. This Pokemon Gym is a giant puzzle, one where trainers will have to find two switches in a row within the trash bins found throughout. If they don't find two switches consecutively, then the barrier that is blocking the Gym Leader, Lt. Surge, won't go down and the switches will reset. Luckily, the first switch you need to activate will always be next to one of the two colored trash bins. All of the trainers in this Pokemon Gym use Electric Type Pokemon, and you will earn the Thunder Badge, TM36 and Lt. Surge's Autograph should you defeat the Gym.
