If you're
New to playing the Mainstream Pokemon Games, odds are you have no idea who this Red trainer is that older Pokemon Fans love to talk about. Believe it or not, the Pokemon Trainer known as Red was the original protagonist back in the First Generation Pokemon Games and Manga Series. He was the one who first defeated
Team Rocket so long ago, and it was he who
Blue loved to be a
Rival against. And just like how Blue makes a return to the Kanto Region in this game, so the same can be said about Red.
However, unlike
Blue, Red isn't found throughout the Main Storyline of the game. To tell you the truth, Red can only be found after a player has completed a few tasks first. To begin, a player must defeat the
Elite Four and defeat their
Rival to become the newest
Champion of the Kanto Region. Once in the Post Game Storyline, a player will then have to defeat at least six of the
Master Trainers scattered throughout the region. Only after doing this, while also having the maximum allowed six Pokemon in their Party, can a player find Red just outside the
Pokemon League in the
Indigo Plateau. This is the only way to make Red feel that you are worthy enough to battle him, since you now have six of the strongest Pokemon of their given species.
In battle, Red will use six Pokemon that will all be at Level 85. His Pokemon Party includes Pikachu, Machamp,
Arcanine,
Lapras, Snorlax, and Venusaur (that will
Mega Evolve). Pokemon Trainer Red is the most difficult trainer you will face in the entire game, being so much stronger than any of the Gym Leaders or
Elite Four Members (as well as both
Blue and
Green). Should you defeat him, you will earn the special title of Battle Master. Red will disappear once he loses, but he will appear back in
Indigo Plateau each and every time you defeat the Elite Four in a rematch.
