Like the rest of the Legendary Pokemon found within the game, Moltres is an extremely strong Pokemon that will be both difficult to defeat in battle and capture afterwards. However, there are a number of things players can do in order to make Catching Moltres easy to do. First, you will need to use Rock Type Attacks against Moltres when in the battle portion of your first encounter with it. Moltres is x4 weak to Rock Types Attacks, and it will quickly go down when they are used against it.

Once defeated and in the capturing portion of the encounter with Moltres, make sure to use Razz Berries, Silver Razz Berries and Golden Razz Berries on it while throwing nothing but Ultra Balls. Razz Berries make capturing Pokemon far easier to do, and Ultra Balls have the highest catch rate within the game outside of the extremely rare Master Ball. (After capturing Moltres in Victory Road, you can also find it as a Sky Special Spawn in most Routes. Use this same Capturing Technique for the easiest possible captures.)
