Viewing and Making your Files Hidden

Hidden files are files that exists on your computer but don’t appear on the directory. Hiding
your files is very useful because that file may contain sensitive information like passwords and credit card numbers.

How to Hide your Files

1. Choose which file you want to be hidden then right-click it. Select Properties.





2. On the general tab, look at the Attributes category. Tick the checkbox “Hidden” then click Apply. Your file should be hidden now.

Some files are hidden because some files are very sensitive and can affect your computer if that file is modified. Here are the steps on how to make the files viewable in the public.

How to View hidden files

1. Click the Windows Button located on the lower left edge of the screen then click
   Control Panel.





2. Click Appearance and Personalization.





3. Click Folder Options.





4. Under the View tab, in the Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files, folders and drives to view all files including the hidden ones.
