How to Speed Up Shut Down Time

Published by SuperCheats Staff on Sep 16th 2013
This article will allow you to speed up the shut down time of Windows 7. It is still recommended however, to close all running applications before shutting down to avoid data loss.

Warning: Editing the registry may cause your system to become unstable. Always back up your registry before making any changes

  1. Click Start then type regedit on the search field then press Enter.

  2. In the Registry Editor window, make a backup by clicking File then Export. Save the registry back up to a convenient location (C:\ for example.)
