Run Disk Cleanup

Sometimes, we have files that we don’t need and there are a few reasons why they are there. It could be we forgot to uninstall completely which leaves System Files lying around, not emptying the Recycle bin and many more. You don’t want these unwanted files because it will take up space and It could make your computer run slower.

How to run Disk Cleanup

  1. Click the Windows Button located on the lower left corner of the screen and then Click All Programs.

  3. Find and Click Accessories and then Click on System Tools and finally, click on Disk Cleanup

  5. You will be prompted which Disk Drive you would, if you have multiple drives, repeat the process so that every disk is cleaned up. For now, Select C which is the default disk and then click OK.

  7. It should be a window showing the Scanning and Calculation of files that can be deleted. Wait for it to finish. After that, check ONLY the following items: Downloaded Program Files, Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin and Temporary Files. Then click on OK.

  9. Click Delete Files and wait a minute or two and the Disk Cleanup will delete the files and automatically close.
