Runes are items used to provide various stat modifiers and bonus effects to the weapons they’re imbued to. Valkyrie can freely install, remove, or swap these runes without any issues so using them will make your gameplay experience a lot better. In one way or another, runes can also change a weapon’s build as well. In this guide, we will cover the mechanics behind runes and where you can find all of them.

Valkyrie Elysium is the latest title of the renowned Valkyrie series. Play as the Valkyrie as she purifies the land from evil in a collapsing world as Ragnarok looms. Summon the souls of chosen warriors called Einherjars to assist you in combat and unleash the power of Divine Arts to smite your foes.

Runes Overview

As mentioned above, you have the freedom to install and move runes between weapons you own. LV5 weapons will have one Rune slot but upgrading them to LV10 will unlock an additional slot, allowing you to install two runes at a time. This is quite significant since combining specific runes together can complement a weapon’s strength. For example, combining Magic Boost and Art Gauge Restoration runes on a weapon with high Magic Attack will allow you to spam powerful spells. At the same time, equipping both Physical and Magical Reduction runes on the same weapon will allow Valkyrie to feel tankier, especially when wielding slow weapons like with Baleygr and Gagnrathr.

Runes cannot be upgraded or enhanced so you’ll need to find their better variation through normal game progress.

Runes List

Runes are grouped into three categories: Attack Boost, Damage Reduction, and Restoration runes. Each rune has three varieties, which is indicated by their number (I, II, III). There are no equipment limitations for runes so it’s possible to equip two runes of the same type and/or name on the same weapon.
