Like Taika, Cypher will prioritize keeping his distance away from you. However, he has a lot of tricks to his sleeve that can catch you off guard if you’re not careful. For one, he can shoot an icy tornado that can trap you mid-air and deal continuous damage.

While he can shoot single arrows quickly, he can also evade while shooting or fire a spread-shot that’s incredibly hard to dodge at close range unless you’re lucky or have good reflexes. When he gets into a good distance as well, he can jump in the air and launch three powerful, successive arrows to the ground in a straight line. These can hit real hard and catch you off guard especially if you’re chasing him around using Soul Chain.

He can also seamlessly switch between using his bow and melee weapons, making him adept in close-range combat as well long-range. He can evade by backstepping or jumping backward then close the distance to counter with his blades. As much as possible, avoid getting hit by his unblockable grab since it will inflict heavy damage.

Thankfully, his blocking stance isn’t that strong so you’ll find it quite easy to shatter his guard, leaving him vulnerable to follow up attacks. In fact, if you see him guarding, keep pummeling him and you’ll be able to overwhelm his defenses with a barrage of combos.

As usual, aerial combos work best since they can’t guard your attacks. Cypher is also weak against fire divine arts so having tier 1 or tier 2 Flame Lance or Fire Storm will help you build his crush gauge while also giving you temporary invulnerability. When he’s using his bow, continue with your assault and when he switches to his melee weapons, you can try easing up on your aggression and try to either defend or counter his attacks. His fighting style will be consistent throughout the fight and he won’t have any last minute surprise moves so once you get the hang of his movesets and your best approach to counter them, you’re good to go.

Like before, how well or bad you did during the battle won’t affect your reward; as long as you manage to defeat him, you’ll be able to collect the valuable rewards for this fight without issues. Don’t hesitate to use items that you won’t normally use while exploring with your einherjars to support you. You can always fight him again to get a better post-battle evaluation rank.
