Hilde returns once again to hinder your progress and serve as the stage boss in Chapter 7: Metamorphosis and Doubt. Most of her attacks are the same as when you fought her last time and the fight can be surprisingly easy especially if you have upgraded your weapons and skills to the highest level you can at this point. In this page, we will discuss the strategies on how to defeat the Dark Valkyrie for the third time.
Valkyrie Elysium is the latest title of the renowned Valkyrie series. Play as the Valkyrie as she purifies the land from evil in a collapsing world as Ragnarok looms. Summon the souls of chosen warriors called Einherjars to assist you in combat and unleash the power of Divine Arts to smite your foes.

Hilde starts off the battle with her doppelganger already summoned. Like before, you can easily identify the doppelganger through the color of her helmet’s horn. However, there’s a new trick that Hilde will use regularly in this battle: active swapping with her double. For example, when you’re attacking Hilde, she’ll phase out and swap with her double and vice versa. Thankfully, her double isn’t that sturdy so even if they swap positions regularly, just keep your assault and you’ll eventually wear out the double and make it disappear.
Hilde will be very agile during the entire fight so it’s okay to keep up with her using your Soul Chain and aerial combos. She has an aerial spread shot but it’s not going to deal heavy damage. She’ll also leave magical circles on the floor that act as time-delay bombs but fortunately, they won’t get activated unless you step on them. When you’re dashing using your soul chain, you’re considered airborne so you don’t have to worry about getting hurt by the magical circles.
Grave Edge is very effective against her, even the first tier of that specific divine art can reliably build her crush gauge quite well. Hilde is also weak against Light attacks so try to save up your soul gauge by summoning only Kristoffer. On top of imbuing your weapon with the light element, she’ll do a great job in intercepting the real Hilde or her doppelganger.
She still lacks aerial recovery so if you also manage to launch her in the air or catch her while she’s performing a spread-shot in the air, you can perform an aerial combo on her to deal easy damage. Take note that your lock-on gets disengaged whenever Hilde teleports away so you might need to lock-on again if you want to keep track of her movements.
Like the previous battles however, you still won’t be able to finish off Hilde during this encounter. The battle will end automatically once her HP goes critically low and she’ll escape after the cutscene.
