How to Defeat Hilde (1st Encounter)

Hilde the dark valkyrie serves the antagonist in Valkyrie Elysium. She’s a formidable enemy, capable of unleashing combos and attacks that will definitely test the skills of Valkyrie and her einherjars. Your first encounter with Hilde occurs in Chapter 2, shortly after recruiting Eygon as your first Einherjar.

Valkyrie Elysium is the latest title of the renowned Valkyrie series. Play as the Valkyrie as she purifies the land from evil in a collapsing world as Ragnarok looms. Summon the souls of chosen warriors called Einherjars to assist you in combat and unleash the power of Divine Arts to smite your foes.

For this battle, you can fight her solo or you can summon Eygon to lend a hand. Eygon will do a great job in keeping Hilde busy and even break her guard through his continuous combos and aggressive attacks. She also has a weakness against Valkyrie’s default sword, the Alfodr so it’s recommended to use that for the entirety of the fight.

Hilde is a small and agile target, making it challenging to keep up with her. Like before, use Soul Chain to grapple towards her and quickly close the distance. Do not attempt to block her attacks since she can easily overpower you and break your guard. Instead, consider keeping on the move yourself, dodging and even using Divine Arts at the right moment since you’ll be invulnerable while casting a divine art.

Hilde is also a dark-element enemy so the Grave Edge (light element) divine art will damage her considerably and increase her Crush gauge by a lot. Since she’s all over the place, try to use this ability when you’re up close to ensure that the attack connects. Keep your combo meter up as much as possible so you can easily fill up your Divine Art gauge and use this skill more often.
