Amiibo

Amiibo:

As like many games for the Wii U, Pokken Tournament also utilizes the compatibility with Amiibo. However, Pokken is unique and special in the fact that they use Amiibo Cards instead of Amiibo Figures.

The only Amiibo Card released for Pokken Tournament thus far has been for Shadow Mewtwo, and was released in the first run of the game on the original date of March 18, 2016. This card temporarily unlocks Shadow Mewtwo immediately once it is used. But since this card only give temporary access to the character, the card will need to be rescanned everytime the game is load if the player wishes to use Shadow Mewtwo until they have properly unlocked it in-game. The player can also NOT set this Character as their Partner Pokemon in thier My Town Profile, and once they have unlocked Shadow Mewtwo in-game, the card's usage reverts to the strandard features found for any Amiibo.

Pokken Tournament also allows for the use of Amiibo Figures to be scanned on the Main Menu of the game. If a player does scan an Amiibo Figure, or even the Shadow Mewtwo card are officially unlocking the character on their own, you will given a Special Bonus Gift Item. These Items come at random, and the Amiibo Scanned has no bearing on what a player will receive. A player can scan five Amiibo per day to receive these bonuses.

The Special Bonus Item can be one of three things: PokeGold, a Bonus Player Title, or an Avatar Customization.
