Final Smash - Triple Finish: It's Super Effective!
This can be activated with any of the pokemon. All three pokemon come onto the field and start blasting their specials. Squirtle strikes low and up at an angle with Hydro Pump, Ivysaur in the middle with Solar Beam, and Charizard up high with Fire Blast. Best used at one edge of the stage, as it will reach across most stages. Expect around 50 damage and a high chance of knocking them off the edge.

Strategy:
Pokemon Trainer takes a LOT of getting used to. But, once you do, his is probably the most well rounded and versatile off all the characters. Between the three pokemon, he has all weight classes and range classes covered. Squirtle is fast and light, great for up close combat. Ivysaur is slow, but heavy and good at a distance. Charizard is slightly faster, but has great recovery and can pack the biggest punch of the three. Beware though, using one Pokemon for too long will wear them out and cut back on the damage they do. Also, switching Pokemon takes time, and leaves your new Pokemon wide open for attack.

Defense strategy:
Match your strategy to the Pokemon you're facing. Squirtle you'll want to use heavy attacks to take advantage of his lightness. Ivysaur, keep your distance and use ranged attacks to weaken it before moving in. Charizard is faster and lighter then he looks. Get behind him for maximum effect.

From SuperCheats.com Forum:

Here are some extra comments from the members of our forums for Pokemon Trainer...

For the first time in the series, a trainer from the world of pokémon steps in to the battlefields of Smash. He does not attack directly, instead using his three pokémon - Squirtle, Ivysaur and Charizard. They can be swapped out at any time, though they share the same percentage meter. They also have what is described as a stamina meter - meaning if a pokémon is out too long or they are switched about too quickly, it will tire them out.

Final Smash: Triple Finish. Once any three of the Pokémon Trainer's Pokémon grab a Smash Ball, all three are sent out. After a brief charge, they will all unleash an attack at the same time: Hydro Pump from Squirtle, Solarbeam from Ivysaur and Fire Blast from Charizard. It is more powerful the closer you are to the opponent. During this, a dialogue box appears at the bottom of the screen saying "Take That! Triple Finish!" as the Pokémon charge and "It's Super Effective!" after they launch the attack.
