Final Smash - PK Starstorm:
Causes a large meteor storm. Since the entire field isn't covered at once, it's rather easy to dodge. Further, each meteor only does around 20 damage, and isn't very likely to KO anyone. Could be useful if you are playing against 3 people on a small stage and they aren't paying attention, I guess. Other then that, this is pretty useless, however pretty.
Strategy:
Use PK Flash and PK Fire from a moderate distance to build up mass amounts of damage. His bat has the toned-down attributes of a baseball bat when fully charged, so it makes a great finisher.
Defense Strategy:
Ness doesn't have many fast attacks, so get in close, preferably behind him, and unleash with anything you have. You could also distance yourself outside the range of his PK Fire and use projectiles, just don't use anything laser-based or he'll just absorb it.
From SuperCheats.com Forum:
Here are some extra comments from the members of our forums for Ness...
Despite worries made from Lucas' debut, Ness returns for a third brawl. His moves are somewhat similar to newcomer Lucas, but also have some differances between them, from attack properties to the moves themselves, like his yo-yo smashes.
How to unlock: Play 5 Brawls, then challenge him; reflect 10 items, then challenge him; get him to join your team in the Subspace Emissary
Final Smash: PK Starstorm.

A good way to get easy edgeguarding KO's with Ness against another Ness or Lucas is to hit them off the stage, wait for them to use PK Thunder, and use PSI Magnet to absorb it. This also works with Mr. Game and Watch's Oil Panic.
ness actually speaking japanese because in the actual game his voice never got translated except for pk thunda cause they didnt want him to be exactly like lucas so yeah and lucas is more of combo person and ness is more of a power person
Ness is fun but never will be able stand to high lvl players with most other charecters
I thought PK Flash sounded like PK Pulse, but maybe I'm just insane. A good strategy is to use PK Fire when your opponent is trying to recover, and then leap of the edge and use your Down-Aerial to spike them, and finally use your midair jump and PK Thunder to recover.
ness is very cheap
Ok put it like this people Lucas is more for learning how to use ness even though i never really used Lucas i learned that he is easier to use so you can learn from him and try to use ness and i just used ness alot and learned how to use him like lets see in sudden death dash then press A on the gamecube controller or 2 on the wii controller and it will be a KO also PK fire is good for delaying them and use dash then A or 2 or also use a bat and PK thunder is good for when they are up or Hit yourself with that to get a KO and down B or 1 is good for absorbing like the annoying Blaster you can absorb or zelda's fire you can absorb and PK flash (sounds like PK puff) is good if someone is caught in a pitfall just use Ness more in training or online or versus
I think pk flash is called pk frost... Pk thunder is the best b move in the game because its SO easy to get the special move once you learn to control the orb. and pulling off the kamikazee move with pk thunder is the sickest feeling.... ness is just the badest kid out. I play with ness just about every time, but yoshi is also very annoying for others to deal with. GO NESS AND LUCAS!!
Ness is AWESOME!!!
and to think that ness's accent sounded different to me and i thought pk flash was called pk crossXD
Ness is the best character in the game, HE'S JUST SOOOO HARD TO USE!
His PkT is god tier though. Hitting himself with it easily KOs at about 75ish.
pk thunder can not pass throu apounits only lucas can
