Stonecutters Event

Thank you for printing this page from www.SuperCheats.com. Remember to come back to check for updates to this guide and much more content for The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Last Updated:

There was never really a question of there not being an event before July - and this time around it turned out ot be a masonic-influenced mystery of epic proportions!

You know we said epic proportions above - we are not kidding. This is truly a massive and very involved event and what is more, it requires dedication and multiple dail play sessions if you are to have any hope of reaping the benefits that it delivers in whirlwind force!

We will be covering it as it unfolds, starting with the Quests and then the Items and Characters! So hey tappers, dig in!

Update

This event has turned out to be pretty epic in size to the extent that we feel compelled to offer a warning and some additional advice...

The primary goals for the Stonecutter Event are the collecting of Tokens whose aim is to unlock the group of special Prizes that are on offer - but to do that you MUST play the game daily -and ideally several times per day. And you will very likely find that in spite of the small number of Tokens that you obtain from them a visit to your Neighbors Springfield each day is also warranted.

The Prizes for this event are a mixture of silly (outfits) and sincere (structures and objects) but in the end it is very clear that you will want as many (really all of them) as you can get.

To actually obtain all of them will mean collecting a tremendous number of Tokens, which as noted above, requires you to play daily - and ideally several times a day - as in addition to the primary mission and quest lines you should also be carefully pursuing the secondary missions, including Number 1's Tasks, and his Puzzles.

! WARNING: THIS ENTRY CONTAINS SPOILERS : WARNING !

Free Donuts? Free Donuts!

It should come as no surprise to regular Tappers - and very little surprise to all the new Junior Tappers out there - that when a Special Event comes along chances are that the Wizards behind the game are going to take it as an opportunity to pass out some Free Donuts - and the Stonecutter Event is no exception to that rule...

You are probably wondering whether this means free Donuts in addition to the ones that are handed out as part of the (rare) Donut Rewards Scheme - and the answer would be yes, yes indeed it does!

Random Neighbor Donut Reward

When you are visiting your Neighbor's Springfield to tap CCTV cameras there is a limit of x60 actions for which you can collect Emblems.

From the Neighbor overview screen you will see, in the bottom left-hand corner, your Emblem Balance and an exclamation Point / Bang. Tapping the Bang reveals how many actions you have remaining that will pay in Emblems. Most players stop collecting when the count hits 0 since they cannot obtain any more Emblems but that is a mistake - there is a random chance of receiving Donuts when collecting the Buildings marked with "$" signs.

If you keep collecting you should easily manage 5 to 6 Donuts each session.

The Secret of the Cut Stone Part 10

When you complete Part 10 of this Mission a reward pop-up box appears with the following message:

"Please ignore the previous message. Everything is fine. Never stop playing. Here are some Donuts to squelch any doubt."

This Reward Pop-Up gifts you with 20 Donuts!

First Hidden Donut Reward

In addition to the above there is a specially hidden Bonus Donut award that can only be obtained once the Stonecutter Table - which is the 9th Emblem Prize requiring the collection of 31,500 Emblems / Tokens. That is of course a rather advanced point in the event but, once you have reached it, unlocked, and have placed the Table, the rest is very simple!

To claim the Secret Hidden Bonus Donuts simply do the following:

  1. Select Homer Simpson.

  2. Change to his Stonecutter Robes (#908).

  3. Open the Task Box and select the Task: Sing the Stonecutter Song (12h)...

  4. AFTER the Task starts, close all windows if any are open so you are looking at Homer / #908.

  5. Tap Homer/#908 ONCE to open the Task Completion Timer pop-up/

  6. Finally (while keeping the Completion Timer Pop-Up OPEN) rapidly Tap Homer / #908 until a message Pops-Up telling you that you have found the Super Secret Bonus!

You have just unlocked 10 Free Super Secret Bonus Donuts!!

Well done you! Good on ya!

Second Hidden Donut Reward

Collecting Emblems / Tokens is, of course, how you go about completing the tail end of the primary quest line and mission but it turns out that a second, Bonus award of Donuts exists beyond Satan's Anvil...

Not for nothing but recently I was forced to spend three days in a hospital bed with severely restricted Internet, and, being forced to find not-the-net methods for combating the beast that is called Boredom - an enemy that I suspect humans find as deadly and fearsome as do small dogs and cats the God of Destruction they call Vah-Koom - I nearly died in the struggle.

What saved me was the Classic Movie channel and a Cowboy movie from the 1960s called El Dorado that starred John Wayne, as gunslinger Cole Thornton, Robert Mitchum as El Dorado Sheriff J.P. Harrah, and a very very VERY young James Caan as the young knife-fighter called Mississippi.

Between that and a book about cops called Final Justice (by W.E.B. Griffin) set in the Philadelphia of the mid-1990s I barely got throug it and survived. I don' recommend you try that on your own, just saying...

Where were we? Oh yeah! Once you have collected the 35,000 Emblems / Tokens and claim Satan's Anvil, for every 3,000 Emblems that you collect thereafter you will receive a Mystery Box Pop-Up that works exactly the same way that the over-Leveling one does.

From that you can obtain a 3 Donuts reward! So yep, after you complete the collection you can continue collecting for FREE DONUTS! Woohoo!

QUESTS

The following Missions and Quests are part of this event:

Game of Stones

If you are a fan of the animated TV Show from which this game gets its origins and inspiration you will very likely already know about the Stonecutters -- which is a secret, ancient organization (and a parody of the Freemasons) in the form of a Fraternal Organization.

The Springfield lodge, which is led by the all-knowing Number One, was featured in the episode "Homer the Great" - which actually goes back quite a ways (nearly two years ago) so you really have to be a fan to remember it if you think about it...

The regular meeting for the Springfield Stonecutters is Wednesday evening (we hear that the Shelbyville Lodge meets on Monday evenings) at its large and well-endowed headquarters, where their activities mostly involve drinking beer and playing Ping-Pong.

The Lodge Members are identified not by name but rather by number, with the number being assigned by the order, giving a very accurate means for assessing the health of a given Lodge.

Official Springfield Stonecutter Lodge Membership

The following is the official Springfield Lodge Membership List, the names having been obtained either via the game, or via the episodes that featured the Stonecutter Lodge. In the case of the latter, the brothers listed were officially mentioned as belonging to the Lodge, or to the Stonecutters in general. Stonecutters who were mentioned in the show as belonging either to the National Lodge in Washington, or the World Council are listed in a separate list following the Springfield Lodge Member Role.

Notes:

  • The number assigned to each lodge brother is based upon the seniority of either the official canon via the TV Show, then Tapped Out, and finally other Reference sources.

  • Where the lodge brother number is not known or where it has not been revealed (but the name has) the brother is listed at the bottom under the assumption that they joined after Homer Simpson, who is Number 908.

  • Brothers who are known to be Stonecutters, who are in the game, but who do not have a set of robes, are listed with a single asterisks following their number or the triple-question-marks where their number is not officially known.

  • Brothers who are known to be Stonecutters, who have a set of robes, and who are in the game are listed with a double-asterisks after their number.

  • Brothers who are in the game and who have a set of robes in the game have their names listed in bold type.

  • Stonecutter Video Game Appearances

In addition to their appearance as part of the Special Event in Tapped Out, the Stonecutter Lodge has also appeared in The Simpson's inspired games:

    • The Simpsons: Road Rage (A Crazy Taxi Clone for PS2, Xbox, GameCube, and Gameboy Advanced); and

    • The Simpsons: Hit & Run (a GTA-Type Game available in PS2, Xbox, GameCube and Windows PC).

    Stonecutter Trivia

    • In the game The Simpsons: Hit & Run, Homer Simpson can obtain and wear the Chosen One Stonecutter Outfit.

    • In the game The Simsons: Hit & Run there is a Trading Card that references The Stonecutter Lodge and the episode ā€œHomer the Greatā€ for The Simpsons TV Show.

    • The Stonecutter are based upon the real-world fraternal organization known as The Freemasons.

    Game of Stones Pt. 1

To start the main mission for the new Special Event, you must first construct the Lodge, which means buying the construction project from the in-game store, and then placing it to begin the timer.

Build the Stonecutter Lodge ($2,000 @ 16h Timer)

Completing the Stonecutter Lodge adds the character of Number 1 to your game and officially kicks off the event (seriously, there was no event until this Building was built!).

This Building earns $1,500 and 150 XP every 7d.

    Game of Stones Pt. 2

After you complete Building the Stonecutter Lodge and Number 1 arrives in town, Homer will have a Quest Flag that is not really a Quest Flag so much as an attention-getting device. Tapping him initiates this Intermission, during which Homer and Number 1 have a chat...

Number 1 wants back in to the Lodge - which Homer is now the Master of - you had to have been watching the TV Show years ago to grok all that...

The upshot of this is that when the convo finishes, you receive Homer's Stonecutter Outfit - Number 908 - and then the next stage in the Game of Stones Mission is flagged to make Number 908 Be the Chosen One...

Be the Chosen One (4h) $190 and 45 XP.

Completing this also awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

    Game of Stones Pt. 3

It seems that Number 1 is now aware of the Sky Finger (Us) and refuses to do our bidding! He instead orders us to collect from houses five times.

    Collect from Houses x5

Completing this also awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

    Game of Stones Pt. 4

This mission informs you that all of the kids in Springfield now have a new Task that they can do to Solve Number 1's Tasks - not to be confused with the Parchment Riddles mind you - so hey, get them working!

Originally we were listing these one at a time, but as the mission progressed we realized that they were basically randomly assigned groups of Characters being matched up with random tasks - so we have taken a different approach here that will work better!

In place of the unorganized list we offer you the following Tables, which offer the information in the form of the random Task that you can then match up to the random group of Characters. That makes this far more efficient and easier to figure out!

    The Ark of the Stonecovenant

It is now time to solve a Sacred Parchment Puzzle...

The Ark of the Stonecovenant Pt. 1

You are presented with a selection of parchment and a timer - one new each day throughout the event period. A number of extra clues are offered - most of which either tie directly to the character being referenced as the solution for the riddle, or to the show in which the event being paid homage took place.

The first clue is always the parchment itself, which includes an image of the object that is intended to show you the important element of the solution for the riddle. The next clue is, of course, the riddle itself, most of which are rather clever and some of which are rather witty.

With that in mind - and presuming that many of you will not be major fans of the show and so have the memory of the event fresh in your mind palace, we include below the riddle AND the solution. So hey, get busy!

    • 3 June - Puzzle 01: A pointy-haired girl yearns to play her favorite instrument.

The image is Lisa's Saxophone - which is her best mate. So have Lisa Play her Sax.

    • 4 June - Puzzle 02: Eight hungry children, fed by an overworked shopkeep.

The image is a baby bottle with the number 8 on it, which could not be more obvious if it was delivered with a hammer blow to the head! So have Apu Feed the Octuplets.

    • 5 June - Puzzle 03: A celebrity gets the monkey off his back.

The image is Krusty's pet monkey, Mr. Teeny - so why don't you have Krusty Walk Mr. Teeny?

    • 6 June - Puzzle 04: A young boy searches doggedly for his loved one.

The image is Milhouse's dog Puppy Goo-Goo - so go have Milhouse Find Puppy Goo-Goo.

    • 7 June - Puzzle 05: Getting out in nature is an admirable pursuit, in principle.

The image is Principal Skinner's bird-watching binoculars - so having him go Birdwatching is the thing to do.

    • 8 June - Puzzle 06: Great Scott! It's an instrument of war!

The image is clearly Groundskeeper Willie's treasured musical instrument - his Bagpipes. That being so it seems that the thing to do is to have Willie Play the Bagpipes.

    • 9 June - Puzzle 07: The worst costume ever is the one you make yourself.

The image is a pair of Spock-Ears and a really bad wig - and nobody sports a pair of Spock-Ears and a really bad wig in Cosplay quite like Comic Book Guy - so the solution would be for him to go and Cosplay!

    • 10 June - Puzzle 08: What's black and white and carried all over?

Nobody in Springfield has done more to condemn the Panda to certain extinction quite like our friendly town bar keeper and endangered animal dealer Moe. So why not have Moe Smuggle Endangered Species?

    • 11 June - Puzzle 09: A revered pastime derails your preconception of religion

The picture is a scale-model steam-powered locomotive and the only person in town with that sort of hobby and fascination is the Rev. Lovejoy... Having him ride his 1.5 Scale Train would be the ticket!

    • 12 June - Puzzle 10: Two wheels transport the son of a king.

This one is a little tricky - that image of a bike could belong to anybody... But the flower decals on the basket can only mean one thing: the bike belongs to Martin! So go have him Ride a Bike why don't you?

    • 13 June - Puzzle 11: It would be criminal to skip this art lesson.

The image is a canvas on its stand - and there really is only one Springfielder who has more of a fascination with art than Marge Simpson - a fascination she passed on to all of her children to be sure - but hey, why not have Marge teach an art class? That should be just the picture.

    • 14 June - Puzzle 12: Four wheels transport the son of a Greek poet.

Yes, that Skateboard looks familiar - it belongs to a boy who has made it his life ambition to grind every surface in the city of Springfield! Go have Bart Simpson complete the Skateboard Task.

    • 15 June - Puzzle 13: The serpent has a mane that must be maintained.

An image of a snake - and a comb - man you cannot get more pictionary than that! The solution is to have our neighborhood hood -- that would be none other than Snake -- Comb his Hair!

    • 16 June - Puzzle 14: Daddy needs a new pair of size 30 shoes!

Dollar signs? A Greyhoud of the racing profession? That can only mean one thing: it is time to send Krusty to the Dog Track for his weekly gambling session!

    • 17 June - Puzzle 15: Secrets that aren't hidden are a waste.

While anybody can dabble in Toxic Waste, it takes a very special, very greedy, very evil old man to partake in the disposal of Radioactive Toxic Waste - and in Springfield that can only be one person: Charles Montgomery Burns! The solution here is obvious - go and send Mr. Burns to partake in his favorite hobby and Hide Nuclear Waste all over town. Because hey, that is how he rolls!

    • 18 June - Puzzle 16: A Flaming Moe has a liquor-ish sting.

While that Whip should be pretty distinctive, we will forgive you if you fail to recognize it since the association is largely connected to the episode in which Simthers indulges his Zoro-esque fantasies - but if you have Smithers do the Task called "Whip It!" we think you will find success...

    • 19 June - Puzzle 17: Pyromaniacs love learnding! (This one is tailor made for Ralph...)

With the picture of a Leprechaun holding a match and the intentional mashed words it is so Ralphie...

    • 20 June - Puzzle 18: Now that's a spicy squeezebox

The picture of a Squeezebox makes this one dead simple since your favorite Italian restaurant owner Luigi is the only resident in your Springfield who owns and plays that particular instrument - so tap on Luigi and select the Task Play the Accordion to get this one done!

    • 21 June - Puzzle 19: Mandela manipulates a modern mandolin.

This one was not quite as obvious as the wizard who thought it up thunk it might be - after all younger gamers are not going to associate Nelson Mandela with Nelson in the game - but once they do, selecting Nelson's Play Guitar Task seems pretty obvious...

    • 22 June - Puzzle 20: He communicates with his ancestors in Norse Code.

The clue here is a picture of a Viking Helmet and Norse Code -- and Carl's Task to Honor his Icelandic Heritage also happens to be his longest, requiring a full day to complete, but the clue above can be interpreted no other way!

    • 23 June - Puzzle 21: You can't put a price on love, but you can always buy a heart.

Thanks to the picture of a human heart with a price tag on it, the clue above is much clearer than it might otherwise have been - and a quick check of Dr. Hibbert reveals his special Task - Deal Organs on the Black Market - making this wicked clear!

    • 24 June - Puzzle 22: Five-letter word for grumpy, old woman. Second letter "G."

The picture here - what is obviously a crossword puzzle - makes the Task clear - and the clue above can only lead us to one person: Agnes! With that connection made, her Task to Do Crossword Puzzles is as obvious as they come.

    • 25 June - Puzzle 23: A musical offering you cannot refuse.

The image of the violin and bow combined with the clue above can only mean one thing: and that would be having Fat Tony play his Violin!

    • 26 June - Puzzle 24: A missing limb sounds like bad genes.

The image, a box of old clothes, does not really do much in obvious terms to clue you in to the solution to the riddle - but when you think about who is missing a limb (Herman) and the business that he is in (Military Surplus) the solution is obvious - and we just need to have Herman Sell Counterfeit Jeans!

    The Stonecutter Welcome Quests

A major element in the sub-quests reward scheme for this Special Event are the Stronecutter Robes that are granted to each Member of the Lodge, who is assigned a number upon receiving their Robes and it is by that number (and not their mundane name) they are identified within the Lodge.

These outfits are awarded as Prizes for the followowing Sub-Quests and Missions:
