Part II of the Two-Part Section that is called Part 12

This is the Second Part of a Two-Part Section covering Levels 26 through 37 for the video game The Simpsons: Tapped Out and it includes the Missions that make up the completion of Act I of The Story, which is meant to appear as Three Traditional Acts.

This is not the end of the Guide. There is much more to come... Things will start to move very fast here with a lot of the new missions and quests coming right on the heals of each other and often times stacking up, so you should make it a habit from here on to NOT assign Tasks to Characters immediately after you clear a Task on them.

The reason for delaying is to give the game time to add the Mission or Quest Prompt (the "!" over the character's head) so that the Mission or Quest gets properly flagged... An easy way to rush that along is to pop-out of Springfield wither by visiting your Neighbors or taking the bus to Krustyland, as when you return to Springfield the game will do a forced check for new Missions or Quests and Update accordingly.

This game and its Game Play is divided into three basic areas -- they are:

To simplify the process each Mission with its associated Quest Chains are separated into sections in each Section of the Guide that are organized based upon where they appear in each of the three exclusive Game Play areas.

Fleet-A-Pita?

They say that there is an exception to every rule, and considering that we have a rule against spending Money to progress in The Simpsons: Tapped Out you would think that there would have to be an exception to that rule, right? No! We have stuck to our guns and followed the Strategy to Guide you through a guilt-free Cash-saved game... Until now.

Yes, I am admitting that there is indeed an exception to the rule. Or in this case an addition to the game that makes breaking the rule very very attractive indeed. What am I talking about? Well it all starts with a Food Truck really...

In The Twisted World of Marge Simpson (Season 8 Episode 11) of The Simpsons TV Show Marge joined a local housewife Investment Club called the Springfield Investorettes, made up of:

  • Edna Krabappel

  • Agnes Skinner

  • Luann Van Houten

  • Helen Lovejoy

  • Marge Simpson (Banned)

  • Maude Flanders (Deceased)

Due in part to a complicated set of circumstances that caused the group to kick Marge out, Homer's need for revenge and the groups need for payback leads to a Mafia War. That is not really the point - the point is that one of the investments was the Fleet-A-Pita Food Trucks -- which is the whole point behind wanting to get that business into our game!

Forced to Spend?

Generally speaking the aims of this Guide and walkthrough is to help the player get through this Freemium Grinder without actually having to spend real-world Money. Note the emphasis upon the word "having" as in "having to spend" because that is not to say you, the player, might not at some point choose to spend real-world money... As may very well be the case here.

An examination of the situation for the conditions required to unlock and add to the game the special Food Trucks is a path that begins with adding Luann Van Houten to your game.

You cannot do it without first adding her and the Cracker Factory -- a business that has been in the Van Houten family for generations a Premium Structure with a price tag of 150 Donuts. That being said, this may be the exception to the rule... That is not to say that you may not have saved up the 150 Donuts that are required -- thanks to a variety of sources for Free Donuts over the course of reaching Level 37 is easily possible.

The Path to Pita Food Truck Greatness

What is so good about the Pita Trucks you are probably wondering? Well, they only cost $5K each, but each Truck you deploy in your Springfield brings with it a full 2-Points of Gluttony -- and as you surely know the higher your level is the more points each of the Conform-O-Meter stats require!

As hinted above though, there are some issues with obtaining the Pita Trucks -- specifically the fact that you have to buy the Cracker Factory.

The reason you have to purchase that Premium Building is because the Trucks are unlocked via Luann's Story Line, which includes a Quest Chain with 14-Quests in it, and the one that unlocks the Trucks is actually almost halfway through that chain -- though the Krustyland Version of the Truck does unlock a little sooner than that.

The fact that the bulk of the decoration Items (and in particular those like the Trucks that have a Utility function in the game) are basically a Premium-based item, well, that is regrettable. You do not need them for your game to be playable, and you can get those Gluttony Points by placing regular restaurants and food stands, but if you have been hoarding Donuts and you have them, that Factory is looking like a good investment for those Donuts.

If you have a few extra bucks kicking around and you choose to spend them on Donuts -- the $9.99 Tray of Donuts will get you 132 Donuts so if you have been saving your Donuts you can easily get this for just under $10! If you already have saved up 90 or more Donuts, you can just get the $4.99 Stack of Donuts as that provides 60 of the sugary little buggers and that will get you over the hump...

Either way, your call. You don't need this but it sure will help.

Bachelor Arms

Even if you don't much care for them, Milhouse needs parents and completing this Mission will at the very least get back his loser of a father...

To complete this Mission you will need some open space in your town (you have been buying land expansions right?) and some Money, as well as time and patience. When you have all of those in one place, buy the Bachelor Arms Apartments Building for $253,500 (wow that is one expensive building!) and place it somewhere that won't be too embarrassing for the people forced to live there.

Unlocking the Bachelor Arms requires Level 37 and $253,500 as well as 24 hours build time. For your trouble in addition to adding Milhouse's father to your Springfield, the Building generates $225 and 22 XP every 16h.

Bread And Putter

It seems that Ned Flanders is a bit concerned about the measure of influence that Homer and Bart are having over Rod and Todd and he wants to discuss it with Homer so they discuss it -- if by discuss we mean Homer challenges Flanders to a Mini-Golf Putt-Putt Tournament, and if by "challenge" we mean brow-beat him into accepting...

Carl's Rise up the Ladder Pt. 1 -- Make Carl go to Dinner at the Burns Manor.

The idea is to use the available land efficiently while at the same time place and decorate so that your Town looks good at the same time!

Once you have a few dozen really serious players as Neighbors you will start to see examples of this in their towns -- very innovative and neat uses of space and decoration to create a Springfield you can be proud of!

Early in the game and at earlier levels you will have found yourself placing some pretty large structures which, at the time were probably on the edge of town, which when you consider structures like the Prison, the Racetrack, not to mention those large Cemeteries if you were playing during Halloween 2012 -- but now that your town has grown up it has grown up AROUND those structures, which makes them about as out of place as a Pig in a dress... Unless you have a thing for Pigs in dresses, in which case ew!

So, since you are purchasing Land Expansion plots which, naturally enough, will be on the edge of your current town, here is a chance to move them out to the bush area, and at the same time make use of what has become the center areas of your town in a more productive way!

Moving the Prison will provide more than the space required for placing the Apartments, which means a bit of clever planning here and you can not only relocate your Prison to a more appropriate location, but you can add the new Apartment Building and a shop or two to help with gaining stars on your Conform-O-Meter!

Just food for thought and yet another Helpful Hint from your Unofficial SuperCheats Walkthrough and Guide Writers!

Considering the cinema spectacular that this Mission is something of an homage to, this Quest in the Mission seems a little out of place, but there you have it!

To move the Mission forward you will need to perform a Task with Lisa Simpson that she clearly will not have misgivings about: so make sure that Lisa is free and available, and then have her complete the following Task:

Do Next Week's Homework (24h) $600 and 150 XP.

Completing these Tasks will also reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

Up In Smoke

In recent years, in the real world, the pro-breathing lobby has really had a remarkable string of successes in dealing with smoking in public. Seriously, with something so dangerous somebody should do something about it!

Up in Smoke Pt. 1 -- Make Homer Lobby for Tobacco Control.

Some of the largest cities in the world now have laws forbidding or at least restricting the use of tobacco products in public places -- but not Springfiled! Grab Homer Simpson and have him do his own bit for the cause by completing this Task:

Make sure that Herman is available and tell him to get working on completing this Task:

Import Contraband Tobacco (24h) $600 and 150 XP.

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

It that the law has finally caught up with Kirk and it is time to have him serve some time -- and complete the following Task:

Serve Time (24h) $600 and 150 XP.

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 8 -- Make Kirk Advertise Condos.

Well here is a new measure of low... Advertising Condos is almost (but not quite) as low as advertising Time Shares -- just saying... Anyway, you need to make sure that that Deadbeat Dad Kirk is free so that you can then have him complete the following Task:

Advertise Condos (12h) $420 and 100 XP.

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 9 -- Make Kirk Protect Crops.

Thanks to Cletus taking notice of Kirk on the sidewalk and commenting upon the manner in which he stood, Kirk gets his next job almost instantly after finishing the previous one. Considering that he has had some past experience in the field -- that was a joke, as in literally "In the Field" you dig it? Yeah....

So yeah, with Kirk clearly not doing anything else, have him tap on the Task in order to the head to the office -- err the fields -- so that he can do some outdoor work and complete the following Task:

Protect Crops (16h) $500 and 125 XP.

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 10 -- Make Kirk Work as an Assistant Dishwasher..

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 11 -- Make Kirk Gold Farm in Homer's Happy Little Elves Game.

Wow, it appears that Kirk really has hit rock-bottom this time, because reaching the point where you have to Gold Farm a video game and you don't live in China is totally rock bottom! Make sure that the award-winning Deadbeat Dad is free so that you can then have him complete the following Task:

Gold-Farm in Homer's Happy Little Elves Game (24h) $20 and 200 XP.

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 12 -- Make Kirk Gold Farm in Homer's Happy Little Elves Game.

It looks Kirk did well enough to make Homer pleased -- but hey, this is Gold Farming, not babysitting! Just because you finished one shift and met one goal only means you need to do it again! Have that award-winning Deadbeat Dad complete the following Task THREE (3) Times:

Gold-Farm in Homer's Happy Little Elves Game (24h) $20 and 200 XP (x3).

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 13 -- Place the Golden Calf Idol.

It is not really all that clear where the Golden Calf Idol actually comes from -- just that Homer found it in his basement, and decided to use it to pay Kirk (Milhouse's Dad) with. Obviously you can place that anywhere you want.

Guide Image

Personally I think that placing the Golden Calf near the entrance to the ClausCo Building looks the best -- though that presumes you actually managed to win the ClausCo Building from the Spinning Wheel Mini-Game (and I seriously hope that you did) because like the Mapple Building it's not likely to return anytime soon.

There is no Task associated with this Quest for the Mission and since Homer gives Kirk the Golden Calf Idol you do not even have to purchase it -- you just need to place it. So go do it!

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 14 -- Make Kirk Get Belittled by Nerds.

You know despite the fact that Kirk really is something of a jerk -- being a deadbeat dad and all, and any father who loses sight of true north to the extent that they can cause their child to suffer -- whether that suffering is from lack of Money support (not the case here) or lack of emotional support (totally the case here) it is still pretty low.

Even so, considering the measure of grief that Kirk has taken, while getting it from the Bullies is one thing, taking it on the chin from Nerds? Yeah, that is pretty bad. But hey, life is like that, so make sure Kirk is available and have him complete the following Task:

Get Belittled by Nerds (12h) $20 and 200 XP.

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 15 -- Make Kirk Collect His Unemployment Check.

This has been a very long and drawn-out Mission and the fact that it is very nearly almost to the end should be welcome news to you! Not only that, but this is one of the better Quests in the Mission in that you not only get to see Kirk start to really make progress, but you get to build a new Building for your town as well!

The basic requirements for this Quest come in two-parts: you need to build the Springfield Unemployment Office now that you have reached the point in the game that the construction project is now unlocked, and you get to make Kirk collect his first Unemployment Check.

The Unemployment Office: The requirements for Building the Unemployment Office are pretty straightforward -- the building itself will not unlock until you meet the following requirements:

(1) Reach Level 37 (Level 37 was the Level Cap for this Section of the Guide).

(2) Advance the Weekend Dad to Quest Number 15.

(3) Save up the $310,500 in-game Cash that is required to purchase the construction project.

(4) Have a medium-sized lot available upon which to place the construction project.

(5) Actually place the project and then wait out the build timer.

Once the Building is fully built that completes the first-half of the requirements for this Quest. The second half of the requirements will require you to have Kirk free and available, then have him complete the following Task:

Collect Unemployment Check (24h) $600 and 150 XP.

Completing this part of the Mission also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Weekend Dad Pt. 16 -- Make Kirk and Milhouse Eat at Krusty Burger.

To complete this Mission you simply need to have Kirk and his son Milhouse do the following Task:

Eat at Krusty Burger (30m) $40 and 10 XP.

Completing this Task also results in receiving a $100 and 10 XP reward.

Act Closing Notes

This is NOT the final section of the Guide -- but it IS the final section for this part of the guide... Read on to learn more!

This is the second of the two parts that make up the last Section of the First Act in the game. This also marks the point at which the Guide and the game both come together at the Level 37 Level Cap.

The Rest of The Story

As noted above there is more to come for Tapped Out.

As the wizards who have created -- and continue to create -- the many stories that make up the game overall, new Levels will be added, new Plot Vehicles will appear, and the game will continue to evolve much as it has been.

We have seen the challenge of charting out the many Missions, Quests, and Quest Chains that were needed to fight the battle towards resolving the conflict that is The Story in Tapped Out, and we have seen that challenge through!

We have met the enemy on the field of battle -- and we have discovered that that enemy is ourselves! So go out there, be brutal, and beat yourself! Yeah!
