Part I of the Two-Part Section that is called Part 12

Welcome to Part I of the Two-Part Section of the Unofficial SuperCheats Walkthrough and Guide for The Simpsons: Tapped Out that is officially named "Part 12: The Top of the Arc Part I (Levels 26-37)"

This stage in the game is marked by several very distinctive features, the most prominent of which is the fact that by the time that you reach this level of town Expansion and development you now have a sufficiently large and diverse collection of Buildings, structures, and Characters so as to ensure that during the time frame of any given 24-hour period of play you should be generating, at the minimum, an Income of roughly $120K of in-game Cash.

What that means in the plainest of terms is that obtaining the funds for virtually any Content or Resource in the game has now reached the point at which it can be managed through a convenient period of play not to exceed two days of simply choosing the most convenient 24h Tasks and remembering to "harvest" the Buildings of your town (and the Tickets from the Amusement Park) several times each day!

The "Closure" Missions

A vast majority of the Missions that are covered and that appear in this stage of both the Guide and the game make up what are euphemistically referred to as the "Closure" Missions -- or Missions whose function is to close-out previous story lines, add in the structures and/or Characters towards which their related story lines were Building up to, and otherwise pave the way towards the new series of Missions and Quest Chains that will make up the Second Story in the Arc.

Well done on getting this far by the way -- and some simple advice...

If the Mission you are looking for is not in this Section check the second part to it as it is probably there. If the Mission or Quest Chain you are looking for involves ANY Premium Characters (character you had to spend either real-world Money or Donuts to obtain) it is not in this Guide. We do not cover the Content you must pay for in this guide as it is not about that, it is about success and a game played without spending real-world money (including Donuts to a certain point).

Guide Image

The Donut Issue

The primary method for obtaining Donuts in Tapped Out is to purchase them with real-world Money. That is not what this Guide is about. However the player IS provided with opportunities to obtain Donuts in the game, as part of regular Game Play, for FREE -- in which case our advice is to collect and save those Free Donuts until such time as you have saved an amount sufficient to purchase a strategic item, object, or character.

You'll be using your best Strategy in determining which object or character you will purchase with your Free Donuts -- but we recommend that the first Character you should purchase is the Squeaky-Voiced Teenager (because of the very nice profit he provides compared to the cost) and with respect to structures or Buildings we recommend that you obtain one of the ones that includes a character as part of its purchase since that basically expands its regular profit base over time.

This nicely wraps up the Introductory phase for this tow-part final Section for Act I of the Three-Act Adventure that is The Simpsons: Tapped Out!

- = - = - = - = - WELCOME TO L26 - = - = - = - = -

First and utmost a warm welcome to you! Greetings! Salutations! Pull up a chair!

You have arrived at a lofty and exclusive height indeed -- for not only are you gently climbing the final stairs to the third act of the third act, but you have managed to do so in the midst of one of the most hectic of holiday events (as I write this we are dead in the center of Treehouse of Horror XXIV but hey, no complaints here!). Seriously though, well met!

The very well-defined "three-act structure" is borrowed (actually we pretty much stole it) is a model used in writing and in evaluating modern storytelling, as it serves to divide a fictional narrative into three parts that are usually called the "Setup, the Confrontation and the Resolution."

In this case of course we took that basic model and applied it evenly throughout the game, breaking it into more easily managed chunks neatly divided from in three groups of three, starting with 0 through 10, and then naturally adding in 11 to 20, then and 21 to 30.

Now that the maximum Level has been raised to Level 35 though, our Guide will be joining the likes of George Lucas and his Star Wars Trilogy with a 4th three-act play (grin).

Please be aware -- as always -- that the odd vagaries of Game Play in Tapped Out are such that some of the Buildings, quests, and Characters that are unlocked in this act may be quite old in terms of when we might have unlocked them initially, but that is OK. As long as they get unlocked and the game progresses does it really matter when that happens?

Bad Cops

The next crime-based quest chain is the beginning of The Story for Snake -- specifically Snake and the Springfield Police Department!

Bad Cops Pt. 1 -- Make Snake Rob the Kwik-E-Mart

To complete this first quest in the Bad Cops Mission Series you need to have Snake complete the following Task:

Rob the Kwik-E-Mart (60m) $70 and 17 XP.

Completing this quest in the series rewards you with $100 and 10 XP in addition to the reward for completing the above Task...

Bad Cops Pt. 2 -- Place the S.W.A.T. Van

The next element in the quest chain not only has you adding a new Police Vehicle decoration (the S.W.A.T.Van) but also has you adding two NEW Characters to the game! The cost of the Van is a whopping $97,500 of in-game cashola - so if you don't have that at hand it is time to save up!

That's right, placing the Van also adds Officer Lou and Officer Eddie to the game!

Completing this part of the chain rewards you with $100 and 10 XP in addition to the two new Characters.

Bad Cops Pt. 3 -- A chance to make use of your full Police Force!

This stage of the mission has two distinct Tasks for you to complete in order to begin the Police Training for Springfield's Finest! So get Training!

(1) Place the Training Wall

The Training Wall -- available in the in-game store Decorations menu for $270 -- requires you to reach Level 33 and in addition to providing a training opportunity for this quest, also increases the Righteousness Rating for your Springfield.

(2) Make Eddie Train for Action by completing the following Task:

Train for Action (12h) $420 and 100 XP.

Completing this Task and this part of the mission results in a reward of $100 and 10 XP.

Bad Cops Pt. 4 -- Appease the Mayor's new fascination for fighting crime...

It seems that Mayor Quimby has been watching too much CSI on TV and has gotten on a crime-solving-by-using-evidence-kick (an approach that the Springfield PD do not usually bother with) which has caused no end of concern at the Police Department, where they are used to doing pretty much whatever they feel like doing, when they feel like doing it... Basically it is the Teenager Approach to Law Enforcement.

To complete this phase of Police Puberty, have Eddie, Lou, and Chief Wiggum complete the following Tasks:

  • Chief Wiggum: Eat at Krusty Burger (30m) $40 and 10 XP.

  • Lou: Study Evidence (1h) $70 and 17 XP.

  • Eddie: Eat at Krusty Burger (30m) $40 and 10 XP.

Completing this set of Tasks will also complete this part of the Mission and its Quest and reward you with $100 and 10 XP. Well done you!

Bad Cops Pt. 5 -- Make Cletus Go in for Questioning.

To complete this Quest simply have Cletus perform the following Task:

Go in for Questioning (8h) $275 and 70 XP.

Completing this Quest will result in a reward of $100 and 10 XP.

Now that you have progressed Dr. Hibbert's story line to the point that we have built Springfield General Hospital it is time for Dr. Nick's story to take a leap forward, which in this case means having him assume his rightful place as Springfield's other doctor -- and surgeon!

To complete this mission we need to make Dr. Nick perform Surgery -- which we do by his seeking and his obtaining permission from Dr. Hibbert for floor privileges at the Hospital, and then completing the following Task:

Performing Surgery (1d) $1000 and 225 XP.

Completing this Task also rewards you with the traditional $100 and 10 XP -- but more to the point here you also now have a 24h Task for Dr. Nick to perform, and how cool is that?

Buddha's Got Back

It's time to build the Springfield Buddhist Temple and add a few more Characters to your crew -- specifically you will add Lenny and Carl to your crew.

Buddha's Got Back Pt. 1 -- Build the Springfield Buddhist Temple.

Building the Temple will cost you $74,000 and once it is complete will add The Characters of Lenny and Carl to your game.

Completing this quest will pay $100 and 10 XP.

Buddha's Got Back Pt.2 -- Make Lenny and Carl Drink at Moe's.

Moe's Tavern is named for its owner, Moe Szyslak, and in spite of the fact that Springfield clearly has sufficient population to support additional bars or taverns, the closest thing to competition that Moe has is Joe's Tavern in Shelbyville.

Moe's is said to be one of the places where "everyone knows your name,” but in reality that is only true of your name is on the shift list at the Nuke Plant, or happens to be Homer, Lenny, Carl, Barney, or Moe. Otherwise you should expect to be addressed as either “Buddy” or “Hey You!”

To complete this Mission have Lenny and Carl complete the following Tasks:

Drink at Moe's (8h) $275 and 70 XP.

Once you have committed both Lenny and Carl to an 8-hour binge session and the timer runs out, you will receive $100 and 10 XP as your reward for completing the two facets of this mission and, hopefully, progress the Mission.

Buddha's Got Back Pt. 3 -- Send Lenny and Carl to do a Shift at the Plant.

The reality of life has now fully intruded into Carl and Lenny's lives as they are confronted with the truth of the matter, which is that nobody ever really drinks for free! To complete this part of the Mission you need to have Lenny and Carl complete the following Task:

Plant Shift (16h) $500 and 125 XP

After Lenny and Carl complete the Tasks you will receive $100 and 10 XP as your reward for completing this and you will be ready for the next step in the Mission line which is a major one as it adds a Building and branching Missions and Quests....

Buddha's Got Back Pt. 4 -- Build the Adult Education Annex and have Lenny and Carl complete Tasks.

This is one of the more complicated missions due to the fact that you actually have to complete Building the Adult Education Annex BEFORE you can complete the Task with Lenny. Though you can do Carl's Task straight away..

  • Build the Adult Education Annex.

  • Carl: Date Lenny's Sister (1h) $70 and 17 XP.

  • Lenny: Teach Class on Chewing Tobacco (1h) $70 and 17 XP.

Building the Annex will set you back $60,500 and 1d 12h to build. Completing this quest will pay $100 and 10 XP.

Perfection?

To complete this phase of the chain of quests that leads to unlocking Springfield General Hospital, you will need to have Homer Simpson, Comic Book Guy, and Chief Wiggum complete the following brief Task:

Celeb-O-Mania

Bringing another celebrity -- Wolfcastle -- to Springfield! Yes not only do you have the opportunity to expand your celebrity population by adding a new character but you also get to add a new Building! Double Bonus!

Celeb-O-Mania Pt. 1 -- Build Wolfcastle's Mansion

Completing this phase requires you to build Woflcastle's Mansion -- which will set you back a whopping $114,500 in cashola! This structure is an Income-producing one, earning $135 and 15 XP every 8h. Construction time for it is 1d12h. I suggest placing it beside the Burns Mansion so you create your own upscale neighborhood of mansions - though I hardly think that Fat Tony's place counts.

Celeb-O-Mania Pt. 2 -- Make Wolfcastle Exercise

To complete this next phase to the mission you need to have Wolfcastle complete the following Task:

Exercise (4h) $175 and 45 XP.

Completing this Task also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Celeb-O-Mania Pt. 3 -- Make Burns Hide Nuclear Waste.

To complete this part of the Quest Chain have Mr. Burns complete the following Task:[br /]

Krabappel: Smoke Break! (10m) $17 and 5 XP. (x3 Complete Tasks)

Wolfcastle: Pose (8h) $275 and 70 XP. (x1 Task)

Completing these Tasks rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

The Cleaner Pt. 4 -- Build Fat Tony's Compound.

Completing this part of the mission not only gets you Fat Tony's Compound -- which means he finally has a place to sleep he actually owns (though it will set you back $85,000) but it gains you his two made-men -- Legs and Louie-- which in theory practically doubles the potential Income you can gain from him. Executive Lackey Pt. 7 -- Make Smithers attend an AA Meeting!

It seems that Mr. Smithers has something of a substance abuse problem, not to mention a very sincere if touching infatuation (he calls it Love) of Mr. Burns... To complete this part of the mission have Smithers do the following Task:

Attend an AA Meeting (2h) $110 and 27 XP.

Completing this Task and this part of the mission will also reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

Executive Lackey Pt. 8 -- Make Smithers Exercise for Mr. Burns.

The next quest in the chain is flagged by Smithers but requires that Mr. Burns not otherwise be engaged in a quest (that is to say both Smithers AND Burns need to be available and not otherwise occupied) and requires him to perform the following Task:

Exercise for Mr. Burns (1h) $140 and 34 XP.

This Task has one of the more interesting public animations as, rather than the Task taking place behind closed doors and hidden from game view it takes the form of Smithers riding a bicycle through the treets with Mr. Burns as his passenger! This is what you might call a real Kodak Moment LOL.

Completing this quest also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

For this one you should have previously placed the Training Dummy for the police-related Mission long ago but if not, or if you sold it off, you will need to place another, and then you will need Herman to be free, and have him complete the following Task:

Train for Battle (1h) $70 and 17 XP.

Completing this also rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Military Antiques Pt. 9 -- Stage a Coup

To complete this part of the Mission you are going to need both Herman and Marge Simpson to complete the following Task:

Stage a Coup (24h) $600 and 150 XP.

In a departure from the traditional rewards structure when you complete Part 9 of this Mission, you are rewarded with 3 Donuts rather than the usual Cash and XP -- which really if you think about it is a rather cool thing...

Rod and Todd Prelude

It is time to begin the process of adding Rod and Todd back into your Springfield -- and Sir Putt-A-Lot's Miniature Golf as well!

To being this you must reach Level 32, then you need to build Sir Putt-A-Lot's -- which will set you back $115,700 and require a fair sized bit of open land... This structure has a 24h build time.

Completing this quest will reward you with $100 and 10 XP.

SKINNERRRR?!

This new Mission and its Quest Chain become available once your Springfield reaches Level 34 and you complete certain prerequisites -- and once you meet all of those conditions and the game feels good and darn ready it will flag the mission!

This new mission is flagged by Bart Simpson...

As amazing as it may sometimes feel considering that what we have here is an entertainment empire that has built itself by telling The Story of a boy and his family who have basically remained unchanged and not aging for something like 25 years, time it seems does move forward in Springfield -- at least to the extent that the town needs a High School!

This Mission and its associated Quest Chain are about both Building that High School and about adding a new character to your Springfield in the form of Superintendent Chalmers.

SKINNERRRR?! Pt. 1 -- Build Springfield High School

Just when I was getting ready to spend the Cash I had saved up to build a new town park for the expanded east side of town I get an expensive mission with quests to build a new school -- anyone will tell you that Building public Buildings -- particularly High Schools -- is NOT a cheap process!

To complete this first part of the quest chain for this mission you need to build Springfield High School, which will cost you $108,500 in in-game Cash, require 24 hours to build, and once construction completes, will add the character Superintendent Chalmers to your town!

Well done you! This has been a long time in coming and you should feel very happy and proud!

SKINNERRRR?! Pt. 2 -- Make Chalmers Shout at "SKINNERRR!"

It is pretty obvious that Superintendant Chalmers thinks that Seymour's name is actually "Skinnerrrr!" which is unfortunate because Seymour is such a masculine name and... Heh. To complete this quest in the chain for this mission you need to have Chalmers complete the following Task:

Shout at "SKINNERRR!" (1h) $70 and 17 XP.

Completing this part of the quest chain for this mission results in you being awarded $100 and 10 XP.

SKINNERRRR?! Pt. 3 --Make Chalmers Administer a Science Test.

To complete this part of the Quest Chain have Chalmers complete the following Task:

Administer a Science Test (4h) $175 and 45 XP.

Completing this Task completes the Quest and rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

SKINNERRRR?! Pt. 4 --Make Chalmers Administer a Science Test.

To complete this part of the Quest Chain have Chalmers complete the following Task:

Administer a Science Test (4h) $175 and 45 XP.

Completing this Task completes the Quest and rewards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Section Closing Notes

This is NOT the final section of the Guide -- it is also NOT the final section for this part of the guide... Read on to learn more!

The two Parts that make up this part of the Guide make up the two-part final section for Volume 1 of the Guide -- or to be formal, it constitutes the final pair of sections for "The Unofficial SuperCheats Walkthrough and Guide for The Simpsons: Tapped Out" (now THAT is formal!).

As you can see this first part of the final section for Volume 1 covers the quest chains for the missions that lead up to the wrapping-up Missions and Quests for the first part of what is destined to be a Three-Story-Arc for the game.

It should be emphasized that this is the final part of the FIRST Volume of the Base Game and the FIRST Expansion Series -- but it is NOT the end of the Guide! Due to the special nature of this information you will notice that we also printed it in special colour in order to make it stand out and, hopefully, get you to read it...

The Rest of The Story

As noted above there is more to come for this two-part Section and more to come for the Guide, however we have reached the point at which the sections are getting too long, and that is why this section has been divided into two.

Keep reading mates -- and if you do not see a Mission or Quest Chain you were expecting to see here, check Part 2 of this two-part Section of the Guide because it is probably located there...

The Level Cap

Right now (or as I write this) the game has been called at Level 37 and, chances are really strong that by getting this far in the game and the Guide you have reached (or are very close to reaching) that Level Cap.

As the level system is presently capped at Level 37, when you collect sufficient XP so as to Level-Up instead of ticking the counter over to Level 38 you will instead be presented with a special box in which there are three choices -- each of which contains a random number of Donuts (the Premium Currency in the game).

Each time you collect sufficient XP to cause that box to appear, you get to obtain some free Donuts in place of the next level. Nice right?

The wizards who created this game have sworn (double-pinky swear no less) that they are hard at work on the next game Content Expansion and missions -- so we will just have to wait and see?

Tapped Out is supposed to be something of a never-ending adventure, and we are certain that a combination of the creativity from The Simpsons TV Show combined with the vivid imagination of the wizards who create this game will be sufficient to keep us all entertained and challenged far into the future!

Still this is a great opportunity to thank the players (and the Guide readers and fans) as well as the Dev team and all of the creative types behind The Simpsons: Tapped Out. So here you are: Well done you lot! Well done indeed! And Thank You!
