Super Hero Event 2015

17 February 2015 - thru - 31 March 2015

Event Schedule

  • Part One runs 17 February thru 24 February

  • Part Two runs 24 February thru 10 March.

  • Part Three runs 10 March thru 24 March

  • Part Four runs 24 March thru 31 March

Event Introduction

Isn't it cool that they are busy creating and adding all new events to the game so that Tappers have something unique to do? Isn't it major cool that when they do this, they include the community in that process? Yeah! Very cool!

The first thing you are likely to notice after you apply the Update for this event is that the world has been altered in an interesting way - and a way that Comic Book Guy will appreciate! Yep, check out the fonts, music, sound FX and event he appearance - totally comic book!

This newest event has a focus around Super Heroes - which while it may not be quite as exciting as a focus around Vikings is still pretty cool!

To kick off the event you are going to need Homer to not be on a task - but we don't want to spoil anything for you so that is all we are going to say right now.

Event Specifics

Among other things this event - as has been the case with past events - uses its own special sort of currency for the event related Items. The currency changes with each stage, and from what we have learned works out to:

  • Carbon Rods (18 February)

  • Pie Bombs (24 February)

  • Freeze Rays (10 March)

  • City Keys (24 March)

Game Changes

In addition to adding this new event to the game there have been some minor changes to the game in terms of its organization and tasks. Those include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • The Task book has been changed to a Comic Book theme.

  • All references to Santa Tasks have been removed.

  • All of the Tree-Hugging Decorations have been upgraded to fit with the new theme.

  • Storing a decoration now causes the game to auto select the next decoration of the same type.

  • New event--specific background music has been added.

  • Fruit-Bat-Man has been moved to the Vigilantes Character Collection.

  • Fruit-Bat-Man received a renewed animation.

  • Freddy Quimby received a renewed animation.

  • Selma and Skinner’s “Dine at the Revolving Restaurant” is now sorted in proper order.

Glitch and Bug Fixes

  • The “Walk Mr. Teeny” task glitch has been fixed.

Added Bug

  • A new Bug that prevents some Tappers from exchanging Krustyland Tickets for Money has been discovered. Note that this does not effect ALL players, just some. And nobody knows why yet.

Daily Play Combo

Before the Super Heroes Event the Daily Play Combo has always been the pop-up collection for the game that offers a chance at some random special rewards (Money) just for playing every day. They pay-off was - as noted - money...

With the Current Event though, the Wizards behind the game have stepped up THEIR game and for the time being at least TDPC is paying off in Event Currency - like Carbon Rods - and how awesome is that? Just freaking Awesome-Sauce Awesome that's how Awesome that is!

So until further notice you should definitely make an effort towards playing daily so you can collect a totally free I just showed up for this graduated Event Currency Pay off!!

And here we were nervous that we would not be able to collect enough of the different Event Currency to make this happen before the timer runs out?! Today I scored a very tasty, very free 50 Carbon Rods -- tomorrow it will be 100 Carbon Rods and the day after tomorrow? 250 Carbon Rods. Pretty spiffy even if I do say so myself.

If you are getting different and better results in your game, please share that with us via the Comments System below? We would like to know if this keeps climbing or what?

Event Missions & Quests

Now let us get the event started shall we? This Super Hero Event includes its own set of missions with quests. As is the case with previous events they are story-line structured and getting to each major level of The Story and its missions and events requires having completed the previous set.

The Death of a Hero

This is the opening mission for the event and it requires that Homer Simpson be available for tasking.

The Death of a Hero Part 1

For this opening task you will need to make Homer fling pies indoors...

Fling Pies Indoors (30m / $40 / 10xp)

Completing this awards you with $100 and 10 XP and the Pie Man Costume for Homer. This also activates the new Vigilantes Character Collection Group.

The Death of a Hero Part 2

With Pie Man now in uniform it is time for him to interact with his adoring fans - and fling some pies indiscriminately!

Fling Indiscriminate Pies at Springfielders (4h / $175 / 45xp)

Completing this awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

The Death of a Hero Part 3

Lisa kicks off this next - and very crucial - stage in the mission - as she prompts Dad / Pie Guy to start the Building process :)

Build Superior Squad HQ ($500 / 4h)

Completing this awards you with $100 and 10 XP and adds the character of Fallout Boy as well as the Super Heroes Character Collection.

The Death of a Hero Part 4

Fallout Boy kicks off this next stage which has two tasks:

Destroy the Mind Control Ray (6s / $35 / 1xp)

Make Sure Nothing Bad Happens

Wow! Did not see that coming! So wait - Radiactive Man is now dead? And we have a Brown House with a massive hole in it spewing smoke? Sweet!

That nicely wraps up the preamble to set up The Story - and of course Bart and Homer call upon YOU - the Sky Finger - to be the Super Hero to save the day (and Springfield to put a fine point on the matter)...

Completing this awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

A New Hero Rises

Right, so Radioactive Man? Dead! Fallout Boy? Coward! You? Hero. Natch!

A New Hero Rises Pt. 1

The event is now in full swing and, with Fallout Boy having triggered the trap, Springfield is now flooded with villains and bad guys! Oh No's!

Tap on Criminals to Arrest Them (x20)

Note: Tapping on Criminals will get you Carbon Rods - and collecting 400 Carbon Rods will unlock Arbitraium - which is important since that is the first target among the Personal Prizes you want to unlock - so get to it!

Completing this awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A New Hero Rises Pt. 2

Fallout Boy comes to you on bended knees and begs you to allow him to be your sidekick as you venture into the towns of your friends and Neighbors to capture more Criminals thus obtaining more of the resources you desperately require!

Arrest Criminals in a Friend's Town (x3)

Report Crimes in a Friend's Town (x3)

Basically how this works is simple -- you visit your neighbor's Springfields and use your 3 helper moves each day to arrest 3 Criminals. In addition to that you are allowed to report 3 crimes in the town by tapping on any Buildings that are available with the telephone icon on them. Simple enough, right?

For doing both you have the chance to earn XP, Money, event currency, and random doughnuts.

You will know which of your Neighbors is actually participating in the event by the count of event currency that appears below their name on the main Neighbor Screen. You can still collect Money, XP and FP from those who are NOT participating.

Completing this awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

A New Hero Rises Pt. 3

Now that you have the Neighbors thing down, Fallout Boy has some new tasks he should do...

Devise New Exclamations (8h / $275 / 70xp)

Practice His Moves (4h / 10 Carbon Rods / 45xp)

Completing this awards you with $100 and 10 XP.

Unlock Arbitraium

This is the first of the Personal Prizes and it is unlocked by collecting 400 Carbon Rods by arresting Criminals. Completing this is important since it moves both the event, The Story line and the missions forward.

Collect 400 Carbon Rods by Arresting Criminals.

Once you complete this mission you will unlock Arbitraium.

Superior-ior Squad HQ

Building the Superior Squad HQ was part of how you activated the event and its story - but this mission line is all about UPGRADING the HQ!

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Superior-ior Squad HQ Pt. 1

The first step in this mission line is to use the Arbitraium that you have collected to upgrade the HQ. Simply tap on the symbol for the Arbitrarium in the pop-up upgrade window to complete this Task.

Upgrade Superior Squad HQ (x4 Arbitraium)

Completing this gets you to the first upgrade level for the HQ and $100 and 10xp.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Superior-ior Squad HQ Pt. 2

Continue with your Game Play in the event to earn more Arbitrarium in order to reach the next upgrade level! Note that after the initial award you can continue to collect Arbitrarium as a rare drop from the sneaky criminals...

Upgrade Superior Squad HQ to Level 5 (x8 Arbitraium)

Completing this gets you to the second upgrade level for the HQ and $100 and 10xp.

Once you have reached Level 5 the formal mission structure is complete but the benefits from upgrading the HQ do not stop there.

With each upgraded level you increase the Hand of Justice Power AND the amount of Extra Event Currency that the Building will end up generating. That being the case, it would be an idea to upgrade it as much as you can, as often as you can.

Super Hero Event Part II

To kick off the Second Chapter of this Super Hero Event we need to complete the mission Clownface Origin Story Pt. 2 - so it would be an idea to get right to it!

After we complete that required mission we can then begin to collect the second Event Currency for the event - Pie Bombs - which will allow us to unlock and collect the Community Prizes National Bank of Springfield, The Collector Costume, and Dr. Colossus...

Clownface Rises

Now that Krusty - in the guise of his evil alter-ego Clownface - has committed his first heist the game, as they say, is afoot!

Actually the important thing here is that Part II of the Event is now active - and to kick that off all proper and right we have this first Mission series for this stage...

Check Krusty-Brand Merchandise (4h / 10 Pie Bombs / 45xp)

Now that we have started Part II all good and proper our first Prize Mission is also started in which we work towards unlocking the National Bank of Springfield!

We accomplish that by collecting the required amount of Pie Bombs thru various actions.

Unlock National Bank of Springfield (Collect 12K Pie Bombs)

The Criminals who previously dropped Carbon Rods when you tapped them now drop Pie Bombs. The same holds true with your Neighbor Tasks - as they now produce Pie Bombs as well.

Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 1

The first order of the day once you actually have this new Building unlocked is to place and built it, which builds almost instantly.

Place the Burns State Prison (Spawns Felons)

Once the new prison is built you are informed that you can dispatch Characters to help fight the flood of Felons from the Prison and that doing so will earn extra credit and points.

Completing this build task awards you $100 and 10xp.

Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 2

The notice that you *can* send Characters to help out with the flood of felons turns into a command performance in which you *must* do so...

Send a Hero to Battle the Felon (Reward = 25 Carbon Rods)

The list of available Heroes include the following:

  • Fallout Boy (4h / 25 Carbon Rods)

  • Pie Man (4h / 25 Carbon Rods)

  • Spider Pig (3h / 25 Carbon Rods)

In addition to these heroes you will notice that Bartman is listed - with an arrow announcing that you can Get Now -

Bartman (3h / 25 Carbon Rods)

Bear in mind that Bartman is a Premium Character - that is you have to pay Donuts to obtain him. When you tap on the Get Now arrow you are prompted to pay 60D for the costume/character. You may also be interested to know that a Premium Building is also available that is connected to this character - specifically the Bartman Cave.

When you dispatch a Hero to deal with the Felon the Hero you send is temporarily linked to the Felon until the timer runs out on the quest...

Completing this build task awards you $100 and 10xp.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Montgomery Burns State Prison Pt. 3

Depending upon how far along you are in the event one shocking thing you will notice - especially if you are not all that well set or prepared for the event - is that there are short-count timers on a lot of the stages. That can be a problem if you let it - and when we say let it we mean ignoring the timers.

As the comic panel explained you need to defeat the Felons - and it takes three separate and unique attacks for you to do that. Also there is a timer - remember the timer? What that means is you want to get your heroes rotated into the attack part as quickly as you can. Do not waste time on that short count.

Send a Hero to Battle the Felon (Reward = 25 Carbon Rods)

You will note that each Felon has a Super-Health-Bar of Three Large Red Hearts. Each Hero Attack that you successfully complete removes one (1) of those Large Red Hearts. You need to remove all three (3) BEFORE the short-count timer runs out.

Also you need to bear in mind that there is usually more than one Felon in your town. That is to say that at any given moment, and depending on how many times that the timer has expired on the new Prison, you can have more than one Felon active in town.

Each Felon has its OWN unique Health Bar (with Three Hearts each) and they are not inter-connected. So to meet the requirements and defeat a Felon means delivering the three separate beat-downs to a SPECIFIC Felon, and not Felons in general.

Easey-Peasy!

Completing this build task awards you $100 and 10xp.

A Stalk to Remember Pt. 3

Petroleus Rex may be a dinosaur but he not an idiot dinosaur... Contrary to popular belief a T-Rex was relatively smart for a dinosaur. While it is true that its ratio of brain size to body mass was very small in relative terms, it was still larger than most other dinosaurs - and humans (tho it should be noted that humans did not exist in developed form when the T-Rex wandered the planet).

But yeah, their brain was larger than the human brain, however the cerebrum (the part of the brain that is used for processing information and thinking) was actually very tiny. Very very tiny both in fact and in relative terms. What we are saying is that T-Rex did a lot of reaction-based actions and was not known for being contemplative or wise.

That said, it could eat things the size of the typical refrigerator in one bite, so hey, there is that...

The Dark Knight's Inception

The Bartman Costume costs 60D - which places this whole thing in the premium Category. The question you had to ask yourself was: do I really want to pay 60D for that costume? Is it worth it? That is actually a very reasonable question considering that the whole point here is to play the game without spending real-world funds.

The thing is - and the reason we cover this stuff - is that you could very easily have saved up free-D to be able to afford this - and considering the fact that Bart Simpson has rockstar status in the world of The Simpsons in general, and Tapped Out specifically, if you actually DO have the free-D chances are very very good that you will opt to buy this.

Bear in mind though that the costume for Bartman is really only half the equation - there is another side that comes in the form of the Bartman's Secret Lair. Which naturally is ALSO a Premium item. Just saying, be warned.
