How to get the Leash

So how can you get a leash for your Pet? In order to get a pet in the first place, you’ll need to have the required home. Your tent isn’t big enough to have a pet around, so you’ll need to upgrade to a log cabin. One day on your farm, Viktor will end his lessons with you. He’ll introduce Nigel to you and suggest that you save up and upgrade your home.

Go to Nigel’s workshop and expand your home in exchange for 2,000G and 20 pieces of Logs. Once your home has been expanded, you’ll be able to have space for a Pet. You can then go to the Hoof House and trigger a scene where Patricia will provide you with a leash that can be used for your pet.

You can purchase Pets from Bridget. When starting out, you’ll have a variety of dogs and cats to choose form. They will then live with you in your house, and you’ll have your leash in your tool bag. Bring out the leash when you plan to take your Pet for a walk.

Leash Functions

How can you use the leash on your Pet? It’s quite simple actually, you’ll just need to have the tool on hand and then interact with your pet. An option will appear that will ask you to walk it, which will then let your pet follow you around outside.

Pets can follow you around the farm, as well as in the town. They’ll try their best to keep up with you and be within distance. Take note however, that pets cannot go inside some buildings. Taking your pets for a walk will provide you with a buddy while doing farm work or town errands, and you can even Pet them as long as you are near. You can stop walks if you’re near them, an option will appear for it. They will then be able to go home.

The Leash isn’t a regular tool like the others for your farm progression, it’s just a way for you to have a bonding source for your Pet so they don’t get stuck inside the house all the time. Seeing them run around with you all the time is cute to see as well.
